寒假中，我有幸和爸爸妈妈一起驱车到华南植物园一游。
我们买完票后，就来到温室群景区。大片的牡丹花映入眼帘。牡丹花长约7——8厘米，宽约5。5——7厘米，表面绿色，无毛，背面淡绿色。牡丹花还有三种颜色：紫色、粉色、和白色。接着我们进到温室里，在温室的大门前有一个池，里面烟雾飘渺，还种有许多古树，看上去就像一个仙境。看完古树，我们跟着指示牌的指引去观赏奇花异草。走着走着，我们不知不觉就走到了笔筒树的观赏区。笔筒树在一亿多年前的中生代侏罗纪时期繁盛一时，是当时地球的统治者恐龙的美食。再往前走就是铁西瓜的观赏区。你见过树上结西瓜吗？我见过。有一株5米多高的大树上挂满了彷如西瓜的果实，直径有20厘米以上，像极了一个个绿色的大西瓜，令人惊叹不已，这种奇特的植物叫铁西瓜。
接着就是我们参观的最后一个景点，那就是碧叶如盘可载人的王莲景区。王莲：叶浅盘状，是世界上水生有花植物中最大叶片。王莲为多年大型水生草本，其花大而美，直径达30厘米，花开三天，早晚开放，中午关闭，初开白色，再开粉红，最后变为紫红。
在这次旅行中，我不但看到了许多漂亮的奇花异草，还学会了许多关于植物的知识。
