我的爸爸妈妈很想再有一个孩子，去孤儿院，父母都在挑活泼可爱的孩子，我却发现了在角落里默默无声的“小耳朵”，没有脚，只能坐在一个老人的轮椅上，当我看到他的\'时候，他正在津津有味地吃一包苔条，18岁的我与他产生了强烈的共鸣，在我的苦苦哀求下，父母决定收养他。我很高兴，在家里高高兴兴地给“小耳朵”房间里刷苔条颜色的油漆，可一个噩耗却飘然而至：自己的父母在购买轮椅的路上出了车祸，了。我很难过，但仍然把小耳朵接了回来。在好朋友的帮助下，我把小耳朵的心灵焕然一新，可是病魔却没有放弃他，仍然把小耳朵带走了。
我觉得小耳朵是世界上最幸福的孩子，他虽然没有脚，也得了很可怕的病，可是从孤儿院出来的他却很幸福地生活着：他每天都可以玩他喜欢的拼图，并且一直得到我的厚爱。虽然家境贫穷，我依然带他去了一些“奢侈”的地方，并且得到了大老板的资助。每天都会有一袋“小耳朵”……这一切，都足以弥补他腿部的缺陷。也许要是没有我，他永远都会向一个垃圾似的被丢来丢去；也永远都会像货物一样保持卖出——被发现不好——退货的规律。
书中的我也因为有小耳朵，日子过得一天比一天开心；尽管父母离开了他，尽管家庭条件不好，但是我却有一个知心的朋友，有趣的“弟弟儿子”……
其实生活当中的我们每个人都“身在福中不知福”，我们要像我和“小耳朵”，永远都保持着乐观，在生活中成为一个堂堂正正的男子汉。
