我过去工作压力大，患上神经衰弱，失眠，睡眠一直不好，安定、利眠宁、养安神糖浆吃了不少，靠药物依赖的日子不好过，身心疲惫，感觉痛苦。从上20世纪80年代以来，每天仅能睡4个小时左右，因长时间睡眠不足，白天恍惚、精神倦怠，晚上头昏脑胀。天天游泳一段时间后，睡眠逐渐得到改善，能睡到7个小时左右。
过去，我患有慢性鼻炎，伤风感冒后加重，天天游泳后，抗寒能力强了，增加了抵抗力，感冒少了，鼻炎症状减轻啦。配合每年冬季接种季节性流感疫苗，5年注射一针23价肺炎多糖疫苗，增强呼吸系统的免疫力，减少呼吸系统疾病的发生。
前几年，我每天只能游5百米左右。如今，我在游的过程中，感到体质好多了，手脚灵活，浑身长力气了。现在，游过一千米轻松自如。
总结一下，天天游泳30年，对我锻炼意志、增强体质、改善身心状况大有裨益。
意志坚忍坚持冬泳，每次游泳时间控制在30分钟之内，下水前装备跟屁虫、泳镜、泳裤不可少，安全游泳要记住。游泳锻炼身体，身体素质增强。使我真正到了生命在于运动的道理，也体会到了人生的一大乐趣。
