记得那是一个严冬的下午，上完课，妈妈来接我回家，刺骨的寒风呼呼地吹着，我不由得缩紧脖子，感到又冷又饿！正在这时，一阵烤红薯的香味飘了过来，更加勾起了我的食欲。“好香啊，正好吃个香喷喷的红薯来暖暖身子！”我心里暗暗说着。妈妈好像看出了我的想法，撩起被风吹散的头发，从口袋中掏出了10元钱，温声说：“去吧！”
严冬的夜幕降临得比较早，天色朦胧，淡淡的路灯光斜斜地照在街道上，路边有一位卖红薯的老人，于是，我三步并作两步跑了过去，对老人说：“爷爷，帮我拿个红薯！”
老人笑眯眯地从炭炉里掏出三四个红薯让我自己挑，我挑了一个烤得焦黄的大红薯，浓郁的香甜，馋得我馋涎欲滴。“就要它了！”我说。老人拿起红薯称好后，放进纸袋装好递给我说：“五块八。”我飞快地拿出10元钱递了过去，微弱的灯光下，老人翻腾着钱袋，一边找钱一边念叨说：“找你十四块二毛钱！”看着老人找错了钱，当时我可真乐呀！心想：今天真幸运，白得了个红薯。抓起找回的钱，我激动地就往妈妈身边跑。
我得意地把这件事告诉了妈妈，想着妈妈一定会夸我聪明能干。可是妈妈原本温柔的目光变得异常严厉，似乎带着暴风雨。“找错了！你给的是10元钱，一定当成20元了！”说完妈妈就训斥我，“拿着这十元钱，去还给老人家。不是自己的就不要占小便宜！小孩子要诚实，妈妈才喜欢。”我有些不情愿，妈妈又拍拍我的肩：“去吧，孩子！”我慢腾腾地走到红薯摊旁，把找错的钱，还给老人。老人笑呵呵地摸摸我的头，“你真是个诚实的好孩子！”我羞愧地低着头，迅速地跑开了。
走在回家的路上，我问妈妈：“为什么不把多找的钱收下呢？”妈妈语重心长地对我说：“这么冷的天，老人家冒着严寒辛苦挣钱，你觉得容易吗？你忍心欺骗他，心里好受吗？做人要诚实，善良，不为小利所诱惑！不能贪图小便宜，诚信是中华民族的传统美德，是做人的根本。孩子，你一定要记着呀！”

记得那一次，我和妈妈坐公交车去舅舅家玩，车上人很多，我和妈妈费了九牛二虎之力才挤进去，抢了两个座位，坐下了。没抢着座位的人只好拉着吊环站在那里了。这时，上来了一位白发苍苍的老奶奶，看上去有七十多岁了，她看没有座位了，就拉着吊环站在车里。售票员看到了，就说：“谁愿意给这位大娘让个座位？”喊了一遍，没人吭声，又喊了一遍，还是没人愿意把自己的座位让给这个老奶奶。
我伸出手，推了推妈妈，轻声说：“妈妈，我们把座位让个老奶奶吧？”妈妈听了，刚想站起来让座，只见一位老大爷把自己的座位让给了老奶奶。我想了想，便拉着妈妈的`手，站起来对老大爷说：“老爷爷，您坐我们那儿吧！”老爷爷听了，语重心长的说：“你真懂事！如果人人都献出自己的一份心，世界就会更加美好！”
