董卿认为：“这个舞台属于每一个人，为所有人开放。你想说的话，你的情感，都可以从朗读的篇目中传递出来。”录制节目时，她为那些非专业的朗读者们传授经验：“随着音乐酝酿情绪，不要着急，你们读得都很好。”她还告诉观众：“你们的倾听很重要。如果你们给朗读者一个聚精会神的眼神，会让他们更有信心。你们读过情诗吗?没读过情诗的人生不完整，读过后你的人生会升华的。”
首播之后，来自好友和观众的反馈令她兴奋不已。董卿透露，娄乃鸣导演用了两个字儿来形容第一观感“惊了”，“就是完全没有套路的一个节目，哪里请来的大神。”她笑：“很多人通过濮存昕的朗读才知道，原来老舍(shě是念老舍(shè，真是长知识了，重要的事情说三遍。”
身为制作人，董卿直言文化类的节目难做：“我并不认为因为《中国诗词大会》或者《朗读者》得到了大家的关注，就标志着今天中国文化类节目开始大火，或者说真的迎来了一个新的春天，但是起码它是个风向标。另外也给我们提出了更高的要求，但这类节目真的是不好做，它需要更精心的设计。”

见虞宅，歇山顶脊，飞角流檐，青砖黛瓦，多有古朴之味。有像立于堂中，以供后吊，拾阶而入，欲行又止。姬本无名，凭藉而闻。缘起军中，怀倾城之貌；情结帐里，许一生之心。溯古以言，落雁之女，名臣功将可有缺乎？沉鱼之侍，大丈夫何时失也？今虞姬得以扬名，见惯不怪，若因剑马之事，实有偏爱。
览观行毕，心思良久。战胜世易，胜己难。藉本王者，无心乘舆，生唯斗战，败则命去，莫敢不谓其为天数。英风阁前有联：鸿门垓下，大英雄，哪关成败；骓马虞兮，真情种，不易生。记心默念，细酌深深。
