在那个阳光明媚的星期天早晨，我们在我家附近的小公园里举办了三年一届的家庭运动会。“所有运动员各就各位！挺好，比赛项目有跳绳、跑步、踢毽子，请参赛运动员做好准备，五分钟后开始比赛！”裁判员爷爷发令了。虽然是家庭运动会，可我的重视态度可是不一般啊。为了这次的比赛，我可是每天都在认真练习，争取在这次比赛取得好成绩。
“嚯！”哨子一响，我们赶紧站好，等候裁判员发令。“比赛第一项：跳绳，请参赛运动员到比赛场地站好！”我，爸爸，还有妈妈走到跳绳场地，拿起地上的跳绳，做好了比赛的场地。比赛开始了，我们三人快速地跳了起来，手里的绳子也摇得飞快，打在地上啪啪作响。我胸有成竹地跳着，这可是我的拿手运动了，平时我也经常锻炼，我相信会有很不错的成绩。哨子响，比赛结束经过统计，我如愿地获得第一名的好成绩。听到这个成绩，我可高兴了，好像尾巴都翘上了天，我是第一名了，后面的比赛我也一定会赢的。可我却忘记了自负的人是不会成功的。
休息片刻，我们开始了第二项比赛——150米跑步。先前的比赛我轻而易举地胜利，所以在这场比赛是我有点骄傲。裁判员一说“开始”，我们就像箭似地冲了出去。而我却因为心中骄傲得意洋洋，起跑时竟慢了一步，然而爸爸却速度飞快，我们之间一下子就拉开了距离。眼看快到终点了，我心想：不行，我一定要超过！尽管我已经竭尽全力，但还是有些力不从心，最后我还是一步之差输给了爸爸。唉，正应了那句老话：“虚心使人进步，骄傲使人落后”。
最后一项比赛是踢毽子，这是妈妈最擅长的运动了，而我却没有太大的胜算。“比赛开始！”裁判员一声令下，我们立刻拿起毽子踢了起来。但是这毽子好像跟我过不去似的，眼看时间就要到了，我却怎么也无法把它连续踢起来，但我很不甘心，不到最后一刻我决不放弃！来不及多想，深吸一口气，稳定情绪连续踢了起来，果然动作就稳健多了，在比赛的最后那一瞬间，我终于连续地踢了4个，这可是我最好的成绩了！比赛结束后，我想到了孟子说过：“锲而不舍，金石可镂。”是啊，只要不放弃，就一定会成功的。虽然我输了，但妈妈和爸爸看到后，都高兴地为我鼓掌。我兴奋地扑到妈妈身上，搂着妈妈，和他们一起为我的进步而笑着。
这次比赛的名次对我来说并不重要，但却增加了我们家庭之间的融洽，也是我懂得在遇到困难时，不放弃，坚持不懈地去努力，最终一定会成功，更让我理解“谦虚使人进步，骄傲使人落后”这句话的含义。这，就是我生活中最有意义的一件事。
