在暑假前一天晚上，我和爸爸收拾好行李，准备暑假之旅回老家(水南，因为明天是我爷爷的生日，第二天一大早，我们5点多起了床，我迷迷糊糊的走向厕所刷牙、洗脸，吃完早餐，差不多6点10分的时候，我和爸爸出发了，我们坐了差不多4个小时的车到了肇庆市，然后又转车坐我哥哥的车去水南，很快我们离开了繁华的都市，进入乡村的道路，公路两旁长着十几二十米高的榕树和松树，河水清澈见底，小鱼在水中玩耍，河边的长柳像美女长发随风飘扬，山连山，山抱山，山套山，可谓千山万岭，峰峦叠嶂，令人心旷神怡，很快我们来到了一个群山环抱的山村，那里就是我的老家水南。
我爷爷家就住在山边上，周边都是果树，有龙眼、梨、大蕉，黄皮、荔枝、佛手瓜、橙子、甘蔗等等，前面还有小溪，就像世外桃源一样美丽，等我们回爷爷家已经是人山人海了，不单止客厅里有几十人，就连我们的厨房、睡房都已经非常多人了，刚坐一会，我弟弟来找我玩，叫我和他一起去游泳，我和他就下河里游泳，我们一会儿抓抓鱼，一会儿又嬉戏，一会儿就比游泳谁游得快，一会儿泡在河里让水儿轻轻地亲吻着我们嫩嫩的皮肤，鱼儿不时在我们赤条地身上蹭来蹭去，时间过得真快，已经到了傍晚了，夜幕降临了，一盏盏明晃晃的电灯，像一颗颗金光灿灿的夜明珠，星罗棋布地镶嵌在小村子上，与天上的群星遥相辉映，多么美丽啊!晚上，我看电视的时候发现爷爷家的电视已经变成我网络电视，爷爷家的进步可真快啊，真是与时俱进，我干脆坐在椅子上看电视，我看《龙珠z》，就连吃饭也是坐在椅子上边看电视边吃饭，晚饭后，我用吉他为爷爷弹奏了一曲生日歌，爷爷称赞我长大了，要好好学习，天天向上。就这样，我度过了美好的暑假第一天。

在我的写字台的抽屉里，有一个精致的木盒，里面装着八元钱，在我最拮据的时候我都舍不得花掉，因为这八元钱是我用汗水换来的，我视若珍宝，一直小心翼翼地珍藏着。
刚放暑假，我就向爸爸提出到建筑工地上干一天活的要求，他望了望我，不屑地说：怎么大少爷也想来体验生活?到时候可不要吵着回家啊。我挺直了身子说：这有什么?你们能干的活我也能干，咱们走着瞧!爸爸在我的再三请求下终于同意了。
爸爸和我来到热火朝天的建筑工地上，带我来到张叔叔的工作间，对张叔叔简单地交待了几句就离开了。张叔叔给我分了一份最轻的活--按电钮，这个工作十分简单，只要每隔几十秒按一下绿色电钮，让吊车升上去，看上边有信号，再按红色电钮把吊车放下来，就可以了，刚开始，我觉得这项工作很简单，看着吊车起起落落很有趣，可刚干了十分钟，我就觉得这个工作索然无味，在狭小的工作间里，动也没法动，更不能说跑和跳，我百无聊赖的坐着，眼睛地盯着吊车，像机器人一样不停地按电钮，半小时过去了，我早已汗流浃背，两个手指都麻木了，心想：再这样下去，我真要了。
这时，爸爸拿着饮料过来了，关心的问：感觉怎么样?要不要喝饮料?我鸡啄米似的点点头，接过饮料一饮而尽，一股清凉传遍全身，放下瓶子我继续工作，可不一会儿，我的嗓子冒烟了，肚子也饿得咕咕叫，真想停下来好好睡上一觉啊，可看看周围的那些工人，一个个汗流浃背，他们有的拿着沉重的铁锤卖力地锤着，有的正吃力地搬动着水泥，虽然天气炎热，但他们都在自己的岗位上默默奋力的工作，和他们相比，我的工作是多么轻松啊。我在心里默默的说：坚持就是胜利。好不容易熬满了两个小时，我一屁股坐在地上，感觉全身像散了架似的。
爸爸走过来，轻轻的对我说：不行了吧?可是工人们在工地上，日复一日，年复一年的工作，他们无论严寒还是酷暑都坚守在自己的岗位上。我听了，默默的低下了头，迅速的走进工作间开始工作。
最后结账，我领到了八元钱，我紧紧地攥着这来之不易的八元钱，目不转睛地盯着它，深深地领悟到了挣钱的艰辛

期盼已久的暑假生活终于到了。今天是暑假的第一天，我跟着妈妈回了一趟老家。
暑假的第一天，在坐了十三小时的火车后，我和妈妈都吃不下东西，而且看见妈妈好像心事很重的样子，我心理更不是滋味，加上这次也没考好，外公问起怎么办?
当我看见外公生病，无力地躺在床上样子，心理真是难过极了。这时只见妈妈放下东西就帮外公按摩，希望外公舒服些。我感觉有点伤心，我考试前就知道外公生病的消息了。妈妈看到我难过的样子，便对我说;“涛儿，来帮外公松松骨吧。”
于时，我和妈妈一起给外公做全身按摩。然后妈妈又用热水给外公洗，慢慢地外公感受到了很舒服，渐渐地睡着了。
回了一趟老家，是我暑假第一天的生活，知道外公生病了，我心理很不是滋味。我会好好利用我的暑假生活，好好学习，这样才会不辜负外公的期望。
