下午到了，我们排着整齐的队伍去体育馆，全班安静地坐下不久，比赛就开始了。我们班的.队员精神抖擞的，大家的心都“砰、砰”地跳，就像装有很多兔子似的，觉得非常紧张。我们的队员上场了，手里拿着球拍，好像信心十足，就像灰复燃的烈火，熊熊的烈火烧在心里，给信心加满了油。再看看另一边的队伍，他们一手拿着球拍，一手握住拳头，额头上好像写着“必胜！”好像非捧着奖状回班不可。
比赛在同学们的掌声中拉开了序幕。我们的队员把球打了上去，一手用力地把球拍过去，可是对手面不改色，也打了回来。我们的队员好像想给对手瞧瞧她的厉害，她把球用力地打得很高，像小鸟一样，对手见了，好像有些心慌，慌慌张张地跑了过去，想把球接起来，可是球已经像箭一样落了下来，飞到了地上。对手似乎有些胆怯了。我们见本班同学胜了，都连忙大声地喊了起来：“加油！……”对手见到我们这么齐心，又这么有气势，更加害怕，我们的队员拍了一个高球过去，对手被我们整体气势吓住了一样，一拍，拍到网上去了。哈，只剩下一球，我们班就可以第一了，只见我们的队员把球向对手的头上方向打去，对手一接，接歪了，哈，球落在了一边！我们赢了！我高兴地跳了起来。
哈，羽毛球的比赛真是好看！

周处是晋朝义兴县人。他在年轻的时候，脾气粗暴，好惹是生非，经常与人打架斗殴，危害乡里，被当地人们视为祸害。
那时候，在义兴县境内的大河里出现了一条蛟龙，同时在义兴县山里又有只斑额吊睛猛虎，它们都时常在河里、在山上侵害老百姓。当地人们都把周处同蚊龙、猛虎一起看作是“三个祸害”，而这“三个祸害”中又以周处更加厉害。为了除掉侵害老百姓的祸害，曾经有人劝说周处上山去那只斑额吊睛猛虎，到河里去斩除那条危及乡里的蛟龙。
周处听人劝说后，立即上山去了斑额吊睛猛虎，接着又下山来到有蛟龙作恶的河边。当蚊龙露出水面准备向他扑过来的那一刹那间，说时迟，那时快，周处转眼间便跳下河去举起手中锋利的砍刀，向作恶多端的蛟龙头上砍去。那蛟龙为了躲避周处的刺，时而浮出水面，时而沉入水底，在大河里游了几十里路远。周处一直紧紧地跟着它，同样是时而浮出水面，时而沉入水底。就这样，三天三夜过去了，地方上的人都认为周处已经了。人们都在为这“三个祸害”的灭亡而奔走相告，互相庆贺。
谁知周处在了蛟龙后，又突然浮出水面，游到了岸边。当他上到岸上来时，看到人们正奔走相告，都在为他已不在人世而互相庆贺，这时他才晓得自己早已被人们认为是祸害了。这是为什么呢?他扪心自问，经过一番仔细的反省之后终于有了改过自新的念头。于是，他到吴郡去寻找陆机、陆云两兄弟。因为陆家兄弟是当时远近闻名的受人尊敬的大文人、大才子，周处是想请陆家兄弟开导思想，指点迷津。
周处头脑中带着疑惑来到吴郡陆家的时候，陆机不在家，正好会见了陆云，于是他就把义兴县人为什么恨他的情况全部告诉了陆云，并说明自己想要改正错误重新做人，但又恨自己年纪已经不小了，恐怕不能干出什么成就，因此请陆家兄弟指点迷津。陆云开导他说：“古人认为，一个人如果能在早晨懂得真理，那么即使是在晚上去，也是可贵的;何况你现在还年轻，前程还是满有希望的。”陆云接着说：“一个人怕只怕没有好的志向。有了好的志向，又何必担心美名不能够传播开去呢?”
周处听了陆云这番话后，从此洗心革面、改过自新。经过自己艰苦的努力，后来终于成了名扬四方的忠臣孝子。
这篇故事的寓意是：一个人有了缺点错误并不可怕，只要敢于正视、敢于改正自己的缺点错误，重新确立好的志向，一样可以成为一个有用之才。也就是说：浪子回头金不换。
