在第一天的四局比赛中，我稳扎稳打，不急不躁，记住老师平时教的注意点：立足全局，着眼细节，就这样，我一盘一盘地拿下，取得了四连胜。第二天，在第五轮的比赛中，我遭遇到一个强劲对手——“小胖子”，他是从上海赶来参赛的，第一天也是四连胜，实力不俗啊。在对弈中，原先我还占据一点优势，但是下到中盘时，我一不小心，下错一手棋，真是“一着不慎满盘皆输”，“小胖子”抓住我这个致命的失误，居然反败为胜了！输掉了这一盘后，心理有点郁闷，但是爸爸帮我调整好情绪，在最后两轮中我都赢对手十几目。
七盘比赛我赢了六盘，耶，我终于升上业余二段啦！赛后，爸爸语重心长地对我说：“柏里，比赛的胜利固然重要，但是你要记住竞技比赛不仅是实力的较量，也是心理素质的较量。之前的失利对你这次的'成功是非常有好处的。在今后的学习和生活中，你难免会遇到困难和挫折，希望你始终都要去勇敢地面对，要有克服困难的勇气的毅力！”

上课的时候，陈老师经常引得全班哄堂大笑！有一次，陈老师在跟我们讲解“such”与“so”，他的造句让我们笑得肚子都疼了。你猜他造的是什么句子？他先用“such”造句：“Ken is such a fat man that he can't enter in his room.”（肯是一个非常胖的男人，以至于卡在了他的房间门口，进不去了。）我们了解到中文意思，再看到陈老师的体型，不禁哄堂大笑。这是，陈老师却做出一副淡定的表情，说：“别急，我们先把这个句子命名为‘卡住了’。”接着他又用“so”造句：“Ken is so fat that he can't enter in his room.”（中文意思同上），在我们的“哇哈嘎哈哈”声中，陈老师继续淡定地又说了一句：“我们把这个句子命名为‘又卡住了’。”当他再想把这两个句子向我们作对比时，班上的爆笑声已经无法停止了。
陈老师还收集了许多搞笑的图片，制成了一个专门的“雷人图片”文件夹。那里面图片的搞笑程度已经无法用言语来形容了......下次，我一定要去他那儿把图片全部拷贝过来，给大家展示展示。

还记得一次，我们的沈老师在上课空隙给我们讲笑话时，一不小心用错了词，同学们“好心”地提醒他，而他却笑了笑，一脸不以为然，并且“赏”给我们一个大白眼，说道：“我的地盘，我作主。”老师说的这句话把我们逗笑了，课堂气氛也不闷了。
还有一次，有一个同学正在写老师在课堂留下的英语作业，本来书上是这么写“sheep”的，但是老师要求在前面加上“some”，这样一来，“一只羊”就成了“一些羊”。这位同学运用老师教他的知识，前面有“some”的`词语后面都要加上一个“s”，于是他也在“sheep”的后面加上了一个“s”。老师看到后，就指着这本子上的这个单词，说：“羊的后面是不能加‘s’。因为羊是不能（s）的！”我们都笑出了声来。接着老师为了加深我们的印象，又跟我们说了一个神话传说——“传说，羊是魔鬼造出来抵抗上帝造出来的狼的，so，羊是不会，也是不能‘s’的！”从那以后，我们写的“sheep”再也没有“s”过了。
关于我们沈老师在课堂上的趣事儿还有很多，每一件讲出来都能令现在的我们哈哈大笑。
