十堰是一个山间少女：绵延武当是她灵动的骨，潺湲汉水是她柔媚的眼，四季花海是她飘逸的衫。
进入十堰，扑面而来的便是层层叠叠的山，内秀而不外放。最高的武当山仅一千多米，叠翠铺排中点染着浓浓的道教灵气。绿瓦红墙随着山的线条延伸，书写“曲成万物”的思想。翠掩仙山，古殿春早，郁郁的新绿洇着，洇着，洇开了片片娇嫩的葱茏，几枝白花点缀那淡雾中的殿墙，如那少女的思绪翩飞。雾锁住了一座座山尖，也锁住了乾坤，云海翻滚动荡，偶尔撕开一条缝，漏下丝缕光华，像天与地的窥探，匆匆忙忙。座座玉虚隐在长草中，静享残败，问而不答，沧桑独语。
水是山的伴侣。蓝绿色的汉江，多么好的颜料！色彩的精灵描滴出水悠然的微律，清清浅浅，光影如歌。玲珑的潭与湖是这山间少女清幽的眼眸，雪白的急流和温婉的缓溪是她节奏不一的脉动：时而急躁地冲过嶙峋的乱石险滩，时而轻轻摆弄笑意盈盈的草叶花枝，花瓣漾起微澜，流水落花春去，天上也是人间。
桃之夭夭，灼灼其华，少女最早的裙袂便是这春桃。骨感的树枝隐在山林深处，娇羞的粉白默默点染春季，五瓣心蕊笑意盈盈，朵朵片片涂抹这四月天。寻得桃花，便是樱桃点点，草莓颗颗。绵长的雨季，一滴一滴，送走清寒，迎来晓寒轻烟杏花雨，换下杏花罗衫，便是那如梦樱花、赛雪梨花、金黄迎春……大地春回，花儿也约好了，一步步紧紧赶来，看这少女衣袂如何翩飞。
如果说山是十堰的骨，水是十堰的脉，花是十堰的裳，那么淳朴性情便是十堰的灵魂。
平平仄仄的街道，质朴而清新。你可以随意搭上一辆公交车。乘客很多，一如那些大城市。可没有拥挤，没有喧哗，有序上车，投币叮当。“师傅，我们从后门上。”“好的。”“同志，请帮我投一下硬币。”“好的。”五枚硬币从一个老者的手传递到了一个小女孩手中，带着半车人的温暖。“一、二、三、四、五”，硬币声声叮当，孩子清脆的童音稚嫩而明朗。“谢谢！”从后门上车的五个人笑声朗朗，没人说话，车厢中洋溢着心照不宣的笑声。时光定格，如此的画面日日上演，穿梭于人群中我隐在这笑声中，也笑了。
美丽？这也是美丽？是的，这也是美丽。山水、花木、性情、习俗……骨脉、衣裙、灵魂……这些都是美丽元素。十堰是一个美丽的山间少女，淳朴是她的灵魂。当这个世界走向都市，当一片片树林化作混凝土，我愿心中永远留存这片乡野，这份淳朴。
