第三天他在小木屋里挂了一个招牌上面写着：“毛衣编织店，每位顾客只需要一元钱。”这时来了一只熊猫，熊猫的肚子那么大，蜘蛛一个月的时间终于把毛衣织完了，他累的都满头大汗，他心想：“我这么累怎么只要付一元钱呢？怎么不付多一点呢？”这时一个毛毛虫爬来告诉蜘蛛：“蜘蛛你的生意不能这样做，应该大的算大的钱，小的算小的钱，你才有钱赚。”后来它才明白，要按大小、多少、高矮、长短来定价格，从此蜘蛛再也没亏本过。
后来经过反反复复的体验，最后它的生意越做越好，成了一只富饶的蜘蛛。

顾客来了，是一头大象，蜘蛛看见大象后，吓得直往后退，这耳朵也也太大了吧，但是为了做生意蜘蛛没有办法，只好又开始织耳罩，蜘蛛不分昼夜的忙了三天，终于织好了耳罩。蜘蛛心想，这样做生意把自己累了，也赚不了钱几个钱，得想个办法才好。
第二天，蜘蛛带上自己的积蓄来到了城里买了机器，这下有了机器蜘蛛就不用那么累了，而且编织的速度也更快了，编织的东西也更漂亮了，很多小动物都来找蜘蛛给自己做漂亮的衣服。蜘蛛也成了远近文明的“编织大王”。
蜘蛛终于通过自己的努力取得了成功，生意做的红红火火。

第一个顾客来了，是大象伯伯，他是买帽子的。大象伯伯挑了一个小兔子样式的帽子，一共是五元钱，大象伯伯付了钱，戴着帽子开开心心的回家了。又来了一位顾客，是长颈鹿先生，他来买围巾。蜘蛛说，对不起，长颈鹿先生，您的脖子太长了，需要五十元才能买一条围巾。长颈鹿说，哦，这好像有点贵，蜘蛛热情的对长颈鹿说，这样吧！长颈鹿先生，如果您买围巾我再送您一个领结，您看好吗？长颈鹿愉快的答应了。付完钱，长颈鹿戴着围巾和蜘蛛送给他的领结，非常开心的回家了。
小动物们听说蜘蛛老板这么会做生意，都来买东西，蜘蛛编织店的生意也越来越好了。

蜈蚣先生来到店里，蜘蛛只能硬着头皮开始织袜子。两个多月过去了，蜈蚣先生的袜子终于织好了。它累坏了，又休息了半个月。
蜘蛛想了想：“这样下去不行啊，辛苦了这么久也没赚到钱。森林里这么多动物，有大的有小的，我应该根据它们的身材和用线的情况来定价。它立刻把招牌换了，上面写着：“定制编织店，量体织衣，按料定价”。
它的店又重新开张了，很快迎来了一位新顾客，是大象先生。大象说：“我要定制一件衣服。”
蜘蛛看了看大象，说：“根据您的身材需要付80元。”
大象答应了。蜘蛛说：“您下个月来取吧。”经过一个月的努力，大象的衣服织好了，它终于赚到了钱。
从此，它一边等小飞虫，一边开编织店。每天都过得很充实。

这时，一只小蝴蝶飞过来劝蜘蛛：“你这样遇到困难就放弃是不对的，你再想想还有别的可卖的吗？”听了小蝴蝶的话，蜘蛛灵机一动，卖帽子吧！帽子织起来很简单。于是，知道把牌子换成了“帽子编织店”，大象来了，可是大象的耳朵耷拉着，蜘蛛累的满头大汗，帽子怎么也织不上。
蜘蛛觉得帽子太难织了，我还是织裤子吧！裤子两条腿，应该很好织，于是它又把牌子换成了“裤子编织店”。这时，小蛇爬过来要买裤子，蜘蛛看到蛇那么长的腿，它吓得把门又关上了。
小蝴蝶又飞过来说：“你既然什么都会织，为什么不开个百货编织店呢？把东西分大小号，卖给各自有需要的人呀！”
“对呀对呀！这是个好办法。”蜘蛛开心地说。
于是，蜘蛛把牌子换成了“百货编织店”。生意红红火火，还交到了很多好朋友。

自从卖袜子没成功后，蜘蛛想：卖眼罩吧，因为眼罩织起来很简单。第二天，蜘蛛的招牌又换了，上面写着：“眼罩编织店，每位顾客只需付一元钱。”
顾客来了，只见身子和头却不见眼睛，原来是黑白相间的大熊猫。蜘蛛呆了，只听熊猫说：“快一点儿，给我织个眼罩吧，你看我的黑眼圈儿越来越黑啦。”蜘蛛费了九牛二虎之力才织完，熊猫脸上露出了满意的笑容走了。
蜘蛛很难过，心里想为什么开了几次店都不成功呢？森林里的小兔看见了蜘蛛的招牌走了过来，对蜘蛛说：“你要把价格写的多一些，要不然就会越卖越困难。”蜘蛛想了想，终于想明白了，森林里的小动物有大有小，不能都付一样的价格，蜘蛛连忙拿起笔在招牌上写着：“眼罩编织店，和蚂蚁一样大的顾客只需付一元钱，和大象一样大的顾客需付一百元钱。”
后来蜘蛛的生意越来越好，过上了幸福的生活。
