On summer holiday my parents took me to Beijing. We stayed at Huabei Hotel. On the first day, we went to the Great Wall. The Great Wall is very long and old. It has millions of bricks. Each brick is very big and heavy. Lots of people from different countries like climbing the Great Wall. We felt very tired when we climbed to the top of the Great Wall.
We also went to the Palace Museum. The Palace Museum has 9999 palaces. It has a very long history. I bought a lot of souvenirs of the Palace Museum. What nice palaces these are! I visited the Palace Museum and felt excited. If you want to know more about the Palace Museum, you can go to Beijing and have a look. The following days, we went to the Summer Palace, Tian Tan, North Lake and Xiang Hill. I now know more about the history of China. I also like modern Beijing. The 2008 Olympic Games will be held in Beijing.
Later, I went back with my parents by train. I really enjoyed the trip to Beijing. I like this trip!

暑假，妈妈带我去北京游玩，我特别高兴。四岁的时候我曾经去过，但那时候由于太小，而不懂得欣赏，所以，这回去北京我一定要好好欣赏一番。
到了北京，妈妈带我去的第一个地方就是闻名遐迩的万里长城，哇!长城如一条巨龙卧在山谷上,雄伟壮观。开始，我们需要坐缆车上去，排队的人好多呀，弯弯曲曲的似乎也形成了一条长龙。我们等了整整两个小时才轮到我们。坐到缆车上，我的心扑通扑通地跳，害怕极了，生怕自己会掉下去。随着缆车一点一点滑动，我才慢慢平静下来，睁开眼往下看：瞧！底下的小山谷翠绿翠绿的，一个接一个。真美啊！上了长城后，站在上面往下看，只见停车场的一辆辆轿车如甲虫，一个个行人如蚂蚁，往上仰望，蓝天白云，烽火台傲然挺立。登长城看起来容易，走起来气喘吁吁，好不容易才走到好汉坡，大家都累得汗流满面。这时，我不禁感叹古代人民的伟大，在没有任何机器的帮助下，他们还能完成这么伟大的工程，需要花多少汗水啊！实在是了不起！
不到长城非好汉！当我站在长城最高处时，一种自豪感油然而生。长城不仅仅是一个建筑，更是我们中华民族精神的象征！

我和爸爸妈妈去了北京的故宫。进了故宫，我买了一串糖葫芦。进了故宫里面，有三个殿，分别和太和殿、中和殿和保和殿。这儿一棵树也没有。因为故宫是木头做的，种了树很容易着火；种了树以后，刺客来了，可以藏在树上，故宫的士兵看不见，如果没有种树的话，故宫的士兵能看得见，就可以攻打刺客；不种树还有一个原因，按照古人的说法，皇帝代表土，树是长在土里的，树从土里破土而出，就会破坏皇权。保和殿是古代读书人殿试的地方，是出状元、榜眼和探花的地方，我还特意摸了墙壁上的龙，希望以后我也能考上状元！
三个殿后面有三个宫，分别是乾清宫、交泰殿、坤宁宫，三个宫后 面还有御花园，御花园里就有树了，不仅有树，还有很多奇形怪状的树，比如疙瘩树，有着那密密麻麻、大大小小、奇形怪状的疙瘩长在树上。故宫一共有9999间半房间，皇帝非常高贵，据说天宫比皇宫高贵一点点，有1万间房，皇帝只好少半间房。还有一个事实，故宫里有308口大铁缸，有大有小，大的可以装下10-11个大人，小的可以装下7、8个大人，那缸是用来干嘛的呢？原来故宫容易着火，着了火，就用缸里的水来灭火，冬天的时候，缸下烧火，就可以防止水结冰。故宫还有一个特点，就是每栋宫殿上都有9只动物，只有太和殿的屋角有10个动物，因为太和殿是举行大型庆典的地方，是最高级别的宫殿。
参观完故宫，我就准备去吃最有名最好吃的全聚德北京烤鸭喽！
