如果作品是言情的，配角就是那痴痴爱着难（女）主角的她（他），为主角赴汤蹈火而在所不辞。自己伤了，痛了，到头来换得主角的一句“对不起”而独自离开，更有甚者，因爱生恨，掀起一段风雨，让主角分了又更紧密地合，白白为他人做嫁衣，还同时断送了自己的未来。琼瑶戏里这点可谓用得出神入化，甚至连金庸的“公孙绿萼”也是如此，正所谓“主角爱得天昏地暗，配角痛得去活来”。
如果作品是武侠的，配角或许还有机会做个“风轻扬”式的隐士，或差些，做个阿谀奉承的小人。但更多的，却都是尹志平（《神雕侠侣》）、东方不败（《笑傲江湖》）之流，卑鄙，性格极度扭曲，，当大张旗鼓地宣扬自己野心姑且可以称为“另类可爱”时，平日道貌岸然却背地里坏事做尽的人便可完全配上“禽兽”二字。这也难怪配角总让人恨不得除之而后快。不过这种“终极大奸角”总会让主角狠狠地打败，正所谓“邪不能胜正”，而“邪”的价值便是适时地去，换来主角的无限风光。
如果作品是商业战，配角便是那出卖主角的小人，或拥有亿万家财的无良奸商，哦，后者还是个虽阴险但总算有智谋，比起前者脑袋空空的好多了。或者，幸运着，能做个在主角坠入深渊时轻轻拉了一把的“恩人”，便是莫大的荣幸与恩赐。否则，只能落得个家财散尽、众叛亲离的.下场了。
我无意为配角取代主角而抗争，也无意高度赞扬配角的无私，更无意与嘲笑“配角命运自当如此”的人争论，你完全可以当我在无聊地联想。
我会常常看着配角的人生想，那些配角是否也想过有朝一日所有的焦点打在自己身上，他们是不是也会有怨？顶着“痴男怨女”帽子的他们，会不会也会在夜深人静的时候，暗暗责怪自己所爱非人，然后换来自己的洒脱，中场离开而并非曲终人散的寂寞凄苦？那些道貌岸然的人，是不是也有道貌岸然的心和一往直前的豪情？
假如它们不是配角，或许比主角还要活得意气风发。
可是没有假如，配角还是配角，依旧的默默无闻或嚣张拔扈，最后落个平凡或悲哀的下场，它是否有怨或是否有恨，在舞台上根本不足为提，也无关紧要，人们所关注的，也仅仅是它是否能在适当的时候为突出主角而改变自己罢了。
明星可以通过演配角得到发掘，可是配角，却永远只呆在那个舞台、那出戏上，进不得，出不得。
配角，你究竟什么时候，才能真正做一回自己，好好地把自己的人生走一遭？
