八月七日，我们又去游玩了金鞭溪和黄石寨，张家界之旅就结束了，接下来，我们要去一个神秘而美丽的地方---凤凰古城。导游介绍说，凤凰古城位于湖南最西边，在城镇西南，有一座山酷似展翅而飞的凤凰，古城因此而得名。
在古代由于缺乏政府管理，一度成为著名的土匪窝，近代由于风景独特而出名，号称为“中国最美的小城之一”，也被称为“湘西明珠”。经过四个半小时的车程，终于到了凤凰古城的宾馆，安顿好以后，我和爸爸妈妈去看凤凰古城的夜景。只见一条大河横穿小城东西，城内青石板街道，江边木结构吊脚楼保存的非常完整，特别具有古城特色。河边全是商铺和酒吧，灯火灿烂，十分美丽。爸爸买了个荷花许愿灯，点燃了放在河边水面上我们默默许愿，我许的愿是能学会分身术，如果实现了我就能一边玩一边写作业了。爸爸妈妈领我品尝了特色小吃，有葛根粉、糯米虾、耙鸭、姜糖等等，妈妈买了少数民族手环和裙子，爸爸还给我买了苗族养的动物----五毒的模型，有竹叶青蛇、花蜘蛛、大蜈蚣等等，可吓人了。
我们在街上转到了晚上一点多才依依不舍的回到宾馆，我真喜欢这个小城啊！

有一天，奶奶看见一个很大的白萝卜，叫我去拔，我费了九牛二虎之力才拔出来，那个萝卜好像一个顽皮的小孩，抓着泥土不放手，怎么样也不出来。
我在湖南喂了山羊，那里的山羊可乖了，浑身都是洁白的，像一个毛茸茸的毯子，我喂他吃草，我刚开始还很害怕，但是后来就不害怕了，我发现它慢慢地熟悉了我。
太阳已经落山了，晚上到了，该吃饭了，我如火箭似的冲向饭桌，哇，一桌子好菜，有鸡、猪肉、萝卜汤等等，特别好吃，我不到5分钟就吃完了。吃完后我去外面散了散步，哇，湖南的景色真美呀，瞧，山上的牛和羊都被人赶着回自己的圈子里，在地里种菜的人也收工了，湖南真美啊！

However, as a diligent girl without any solid background in Computer Science before college, she adapted quickly to the especially competitive environment in our department.
