新课标鼓励学生自由表达和有创意地表达。其作文具有强烈的竞争性。在立意上,只有将笔锋触及别人尚未写到的新人新事新问题,表达出自己独到的观察发现和认识感受,写出新意,才能取得意高文胜的效果。但大多数人在考场上因情绪紧张,一时想不出新的素材,这就要求能够巧于构思,让旧素材表达出别人未能表达的新意来,这存在一个选择角度问题。比如拿到一个苹果,别人都习惯于竖着切分,你若能独出心裁横着切,结果切分出来的横断面就与别人切分的截然不同,你就可能从中观察到别人观察不到的东西。作文也当如此,“横看成岭侧成峰”,变换一个角度,或许就能化腐朽为神奇。告诉同学们,事物都是有区别的,我们要善于分析比较,只有这样才能写他人之未写,才能有独特的见解,并要求学生自己命题写文章,在作文中把事物的异处表现出来。
例如,有位学生以《疙瘩柳》为题写一篇作文,结尾处这样写道:“柳树被伤害了,婀娜的它背着个丑陋的疙瘩;人要被伤害了,愉悦的他也会背着个沉重的`思想疙瘩。人啊,请不要伤害柳,更不要伤害人。”事后我问她为什么这样写,她说:“我发现我们学校的柳树中有两棵有疙瘩,先请教一位老师。他说因为柳树老了。我指着不远处一棵小柳树问他,听说那棵柳树只有五年树龄,怎么也有疙瘩呢?他没有回答出来。后来问生物老师,才知道柳树的疙瘩为伤害所致。”这位学生的见解不同于一般,她通过柳树的对比,同中求异,又联想到人,于是写了这篇富有新意的文章。
