these young people are wrong. in my opinion every student should have a knowledge of housework. after all, they will have a family of their own, and they should do their part in keeping a good home. boys should also learn to do housework, for what will they do if they remain single? though not all boys remain single, yet they will be very helpful in the family if they know some housework. anyhow they will not lose anything, but, on the contrary, they will gain something useful.
for what i said above, we can find some eamples of our fellow-students studying abroad. all young men do housework as girls do. someone would argue that we can employ servants. this is true. however, what shall we do if the servant leaves us and all things are left to ourselves? we just cannot leave our clothes as they are and let worms and ants eat them up. and what can we do it we go and study in a foreign country where servants are out our means to employ? we must work for ourselves. why not start to learn to do housework now or else it will be too late? everyone should learn to do housework. what do you think about my idea, boys and girls?

习惯人皆有之。南方人习惯吃大米，北方人习惯吃面条，这是生活习惯。有的人喜欢边听音乐边学习，有的人则习惯于神情专注、不受干扰，这是学习习惯。有的人工作时习惯快刀斩乱麻、雷厉风行，有的人则习惯有头有绪、条理不紊，这是工作习惯。
习惯真可以说是无处不有、无处不在、无孔不钻。正因为习惯如此之多，以至于人们常常忽视它的存在，无视它的作用。但是，你可千万不能轻视习惯的作用。好习惯是成功的助力器，而坏习惯则可能是通往成功之路的绊脚石。
美国前总统富兰克林在没有登上总统宝座之前，有一个不好的习惯：凡事太爱争强好胜，动不动就和别人打嘴皮官司，始终跟人难以相处。因为这个习惯使富兰克林失去了很多朋友。他觉悟之后，马上就着手改变自己的习惯，他列出了一个清单，把自己个性上他认为的那些不良习惯一一列在上面，并且从最致命的不良习惯开始，一直纠正到不足挂齿的小毛病为止。当他把自己的毛病全部删除完毕的时候，良好的习惯遍布全身，如去倾听、去赞扬、站在别人立场上想问题、去爱、多付出等等，结果，他变成了美国历史上最受尊敬和爱戴的总统之一。
其实，每一位成功者都有许多良好习惯致使成功的故事。萧伯纳坚持"该先做的.事情就先做"的习惯使他成为著名的作家；爱迪生坚持想睡就睡的习惯，保证了他工作时有极高的效率，使思维保持活跃，从而有了一个又一个发明创造；约翰．洛克菲勒坚持工作有张有弛的习惯，使他成为了全世界拥有财富最多的人之一。这样的例子简直多得不可胜数。
事实上，失败的人和成功的人之间，有很多东西相同，而往往在习惯方面却有很大的差异，正是这些不同造成了他们不同的命运。这是为什么呢?因为习惯是在长时期里逐渐养成的一时不容易改变的行为、倾向或社会风尚。
既然习惯是一种不容易改变的行为和倾向，那么你就能到习惯的巨大威力了。人是一种生性懒惰的家伙，天生下来就会偷懒。这种偷懒的表现就是我们总是趋向毫不费力的事物的那一面。比如人的思维，我们说的思维定势其实就是一种习惯。一旦你的思维形成了定势，那么这种思维习惯就将决定你的思维成果。如果你的思维习惯于开拓、创新，那么你就能很容易产生新奇的想法、冒出思想的火花。如果你的思维习惯于凡事稳妥、没有积极创新的意识，那么你的大脑就只能产生保守的、步人后尘的观念。就如同你已养成了刷牙的习惯，你睡前睡后连想都不想就会走进盥洗间。
习惯决定行为，行为产生结果。
这就是习惯的作用。当我们每天重复做相同的一件事情时，那件事情就会成为习惯。所有的习惯都是养成的，良好的习惯同样也是养成的。即习惯还有另一层含义：常常接触某种新的情况而逐渐适应，也就是人们常说的"习惯成自然"。
只要你能像富兰克林一样打算养成良好的习惯，那么，你就赶快动手去重复实施你的计划。开始也许会觉得有些困难，但熟能生巧，当你做到一定程度时，难的也就变成容易的了。当变成容易的时候，你就会喜欢你的新习惯。一旦你喜欢上了你的新习惯，你就更愿意时常去做。这就是人的天性。
