我从小就喜欢动画片《海绵宝宝》里面的小蜗。它是一只有着猫的特性的蜗牛。在动画片中作为主角的机会不多，却注定是比基尼海里最聪明的生物，智商很高，还是名哲学家。
几个星期前，爸爸从菜市场买回了一捆芹菜，芹菜上面就就有一只活生生的蜗牛。六年了，这个愿望终于得以实现。我给它取名叫“小蜗”。
我从小就认为，蜗牛是一种非常可爱的动物。它们有时顽皮，有时乖巧。仔细观察，这只蜗牛有一个小小的脑袋，上面长着两对又细又长的触角，像四根电线，前后摆着，触角上有两个芝麻般的黑逗号。我问了一下家人，家人说这是蜗牛细小的眼睛，原来，蜗牛的眼睛长得这么隐蔽，可真有趣。你只要碰一下它的触角，它就会连忙缩回来。蜗牛的身上有一个大大的壳，像一座房子，上面有许多五颜六色的花纹，可美丽了。蜗牛的脚在哪里呢？我一直在思考这个问题。于是，我查看了资料，终于，我找到了答案。原来，蜗牛的脚在腹部的边上，在爬行中会产生一种黏黏的液体，摸上去像胶水一样。

成为“海绵宝宝”才第三天，小蜗就无故失亡。找遍了整个屋子，都没有它的下落。我开始后悔，当初为何没听爸爸的话，把它放生呢？蜗牛一睡要三年，可能它是睡着了吧。我不断地寻求自我安慰，来减少我的内疚。
小蜗的一生，终究被我毁了。连它向往自由的权利，我都没有丝毫放纵。可能它在恨我、怨我……
人类啊，该醒醒了！动物与我们一样,有思想,有感情,也有它们自己的生活方式,更有自由权。我们在未经动物们的同意之下就随意破坏它们的栖息地；在未经它们的.同意之下就随意伤害它们的躯体；在未经它们的同意之下就私自决定它们的亡。我们是否有考虑过它们的感受,是否有想过它们的想法,是否想过他们的生命什么时候终结是有他们本身决定的呢？我们人类现在正提倡珍爱生命,爱惜生活。我们人类的生命很珍贵,难道动物的命就不值得珍惜么。
