从一方面来说，克隆人是对社会经济发展有好处的。比如，在我们工作繁忙时，可以让机器人替我们工作一会儿，自己就有了与家人相处的时间;社会生产力的提高，促进劳动力的增多，而克隆人的诞生可为社会提供劳动力;如果一对夫妇的小孩了，他们一定会很伤心，但如果用那个小孩的.体细胞克隆出来一个一模一样的，不是皆大欢喜吗?从世界社会经济发展的趋势和人情世故的表面上看，克隆技术似乎造福于人类。
从社会的法律，道德和伦理上来思考的话，我倾向于反对克隆人。原因是多方面的。
1.克隆技术现在还不成熟克隆人可能有很多先天性生理缺陷。在克隆羊多利的实验中，277个卵细胞中只有29个发育成胚胎，而在29个胚胎中只有多利存活了下来。由此可见，克隆人研究是不安全的。
2.克隆人的身份难以认定，他们与被克隆者之间的关系无法纳入现有的伦理体系。
3.人类繁殖后代的过程，不再需要两性共同参与，将对现有的社会关系和家庭结构造成难以承受的巨大冲击。更重要的是，克隆人违背了生命伦理原则。科学技术应当有利于社会进步，而不能违背人类的根本利益。
4克隆技术可能被滥用，成为恐怖分子的工具。
5.从生物多样性上来说，大量基因结构完全相同的克隆人，可能诱发新型疾病，对人类的生存不利。
6.克隆人可能因自己的特殊身份产生心理缺陷，形成新的社会问题。
克隆人到底是东西还是人?
克隆人的诞生——由于科研人员的好奇心——“小白鼠”实验——违背伦理——造成社会混乱。
