【鹬蚌相争寓言故事全文】
赵王将要去攻打燕国，苏代为了燕国，去劝谏赵惠王说：“我这次来的时候，（我）经过易水，（看见）一只河蚌正张着壳晒太阳。有一只鹬鸟，伸嘴去啄河蚌的肉。河蚌连忙把壳合上，紧紧地钳住了鹬鸟的嘴。鹬鸟就说：‘今天不下雨，明天不下雨，就有蚌了。’河蚌也就说：‘今天不放开你，明天不放开你，就有鹬了！’两个谁也不肯放。打鱼的人看到了，就把它俩一齐捉去了。现在赵国要去攻打燕国，燕赵两国相持不下，日子久了，双方的力量都消耗得很厉害。我担心强大的秦国乘此机会，坐收渔翁之利呢！所以（我）希望大王好好地考虑考虑。”
惠王听了，说：“对啊！”便停止了（攻打燕国的行动）。
【出处】
欣赏评点出自《战国策·燕策》的寓言故事“鹬蚌相争，渔翁得利”，说的是双方相争持，让第三者得了利。这个故事说明看不到真正的敌人，就会给强敌制造有利的机会，给争执双方带来灭顶之灾。选文中讲的是当赵国将要攻打燕国时，著名说客苏代为了燕国的国家利益，挺身而出，去劝谏赵惠王，苏代用“鹬蚌相争，渔瓮得利”的`故事，委婉地道出赵国攻打燕国可能给燕赵两国带来的巨大灾难，希望赵惠王审时度势，纵观战国风云，权衡利弊得失，三思而行。面对雄心勃勃意欲伐燕的赵惠王，苏代不是直陈赵国攻打燕国的是非对错，而是巧用寓言故事来说理，不仅展示了他过人的胆识，而且展示了他高超的语言艺术。
鹬蚌相争渔翁得利：蚌①方出曝②，而鹬③啄其肉，蚌合而箝④其喙⑤。鹬曰：“今日不雨，明日不雨，即有蚌。”蚌亦谓鹬曰：“今日不出，明日不出，即有鹬。”两者不肯相舍，渔者⑥得而并禽⑦之。
【寓意】
“鹬蚌相争”是战国时谋士苏代游说赵惠王时所讲的一则寓言故事。
当时赵国正在攻打燕国，苏代认为赵国和燕国争战不休，不过是“鹬蚌相争”而已，必定让秦国得“渔翁之利”。
今天这篇寓言告诉人们，在错综复杂的矛盾斗争中，要警惕真正的敌人。
