整个下午我都怀着一种悲催感等待父亲回来。不仅用漂亮的花体字把诗认认真真誊了一遍，还用彩色笔在它的周围上画了一圈花边。小明心想：千万别回来！！！！！
将近七点钟的时候，小明悄悄走进饭厅，气愤地把它平平整整地放在餐桌父亲的位置上。
七点．七点一刻。七点半。父亲还没有回来。小明实在太高兴了。小明敬仰自己的父亲。父亲是一家影片公司的重要人物，写过好多剧本。父亲一定会比母亲更加赞赏小明这首精彩的诗。
快到八点钟的时候，父亲终于回来了。父亲进了饭厅，目光被餐桌上的那首诗吸引住了。小明紧张极了。

“我看这首诗精彩极了。”父亲把诗放回原处。
小明的.眼睛湿润了，头也沉重得抬不起来。
“讨厌的，我真不懂你这是什么意思！”母亲嚷道，“这不是在你的公司里。小鬼还是个孩子，这是小鬼写的第一首诗。他需要批评。”
“我不明白，”父亲并不退让，“难道世界上精彩的诗还多么？哪条法律规定小鬼不能成为诗人？”
小明再也受不了了。小明冲饭厅，跑进自己的房间，扑到床上痛哭起来。饭厅里，父母还在为那首诗争吵着。
几年后，当小明再拿出那首诗看时，不得不承认母亲是对的。那的确是一首糟糕的诗。不过老爹还是一如既往地鼓励小明，因此小明一直在写作。有一次小明气壮山河地给老爹看一篇小明写的短篇小说。“写得超好，但毫无希望。”根据老爹的甜言蜜语，小明一次比一次落后，那时小明还不满12岁。
