英语去长城作文【一】
读了《长城》这篇文章后，我知道了最初的长城是秦始皇为了抵御外来侵略，驱使成千上万的劳动人民用生命建造而成的，经过元、明、清等朝代的增建，才形成了今天气魄宏伟的万里长城。
文章告诉我们，长城是用巨大的条石和城砖筑成的。城墙侧有两米多高的垛子，垛子上有瞭望口，下面有射口。当敌人来侵犯时，可以用来瞭望和射击。城墙顶上每隔三百米就有一座方形的城台，也叫“烽火台”，打仗的时候，城台之间可以互相呼应。
我国古代，没有火车、汽车，就靠着无数的肩膀，无数双手，把一块块有两三千斤重的条石，一步步地抬上陡峭的山岭。这是多么艰难，又是多么神奇，多么令人不可思议啊!
读着读着，我眼前浮现出古代劳动人民修筑长城的悲壮图景。成千上万的劳工，蓬头垢面，光着脊背，抬条石，挑城墙……长城是修好了，城墙下面的白骨却已堆积如山。这万里长城就是他们用汗和智慧建筑起来的。
