母亲象是去天外旅行，大口大口地吐着气，她想要把人间的浊气全部吐尽，然而独自一人去天穹，没有眼泪，也没有呻吟，任父亲抱着，浑身全部被汗水浸透，她象是在尽力挣脱人间码头上的绳索纠缠，尽量不给儿女留下一点麻烦一样，而后独自一人去远行。父亲回忆说：晚饭吃了二碗饭，象平时一样看电视到九点，再洗完澡上床睡觉，十点多，感到胸闷难受，赶快叫来乡村医生，一看不妙，就先叫我兄弟，后来就叫我，而等我匆匆赶到，她已经不能说话，只有喘气的份了。我们兄妹弟媳全都在床前呼唤您，而您却一反常态，铁石心肠，对于我们慌乱的呼叫不理不睬，凌晨四点，我们叫来了做医生的娘舅，说希望不大了，随即就去敲医院的门，配来最后用的强心药，点滴下去，还不见有起色。七时三十分，妹妹见母亲嘴角上吐出了白沫，头慢慢地倒向床外，急着去擦拭，我一摸您的脉搏，已经停止了跳动，天亮了，苍白的阳光照在房间的窗户上，异样的悲伤。我们不得不接受一个事实：母亲去了！

“五七”又是一个重要的日子，信佛的人都说这天您要由拘役改为判刑，还要从长满艰险的奈何桥上走过，进入漫长的苦刑期。我问念经的和尚，真有此事？他笑笑说了一句老话：信者有，不信者无。那我就信呗，我不加思索地说。因为不信，就连飘渺伤痛的感觉都没有了，我们不忍心您顷刻之间化为乌有啊！这一天，父亲早早为祖辈们及您生下后不到一个月就去的女儿赠了经，接着是我们子女及亲戚们出钱为您颂经。在家门前的土场上，我们搭起了仙桥，和尚们吹拉着乐曲，我捧着您的遗像，跟着主持大师，一步一步从天桥的这边走到另一边，好代替您艰难地走过人世间人人惧怕的奈何桥。走在桥上，我仰望天空，希望看到您那微驼的背影，然后我看到碧净的天空白云悠悠，心生无限感概：人生在世苦短，而天地悠然。母亲，不知您那边的天空晴朗吗？
