It is obvious to everybody that the only way to achieve one's goal is to work hard. Just as the old saying goes "no mill, no meal". Have you ever seen a man who succeeds just by idling about? Of course, the answer is "No". So we know if you want to gain something, you will have pains.
The farmers harvest by a year of arduous work; the scientists gain achievements by years of devoted researches; students get good marks by working hard; even the little ants have their food by working hard day and night. 1 know there are always some people who wait for the opportunities falling on them. They may attribute their failures to lack of good chances. Therefore, there are so many people gaining nothing at last. Clever men know that the more effort they make, the bigger chance they will have to be successful.
So, when others achieve their aspirations and you still gain nothing, don't complain about the unfair fate and don't give up, either. Remember: no pains, no gains.
寒假游玩英语作文【五】
2月14日，我非常高兴，因为今天我和爸爸妈妈要去南山滑雪场滑雪。
因为我们都是第一次滑雪，所以前一天晚上，爸爸上网搜索了许多关于滑雪的资料，我们都认真地看了一遍，从中知道了一些滑雪的知识。之后，我准备食物、妈妈准备衣物、爸爸准备用品，一家人忙得不亦乐乎。
清晨，天还没有大亮，我们就从被窝里钻了出来，快速收拾停当后，就开始赶路了。到了滑雪场，远远看到有些人在高级雪道上滑得那么潇洒自如，真是好生羡慕，也觉得滑雪不是那么难。这时，爸爸已租好了滑雪服、雪杖、滑雪靴和滑雪板，哇!滑雪靴是那么的大，滑雪板是那么的长。我赶紧穿好全套装备准备“战斗”。我们是初学者，理所当然去了初级雪道，第一次也没想别的，就滑了下去，可没想到，连着摔了两个大屁蹲儿，爸爸也和我一样，但妈妈却不同了，她摔了一个跟头就脱了滑雪板走了下来。唉，滑雪并不是想象的那么简单呀!我们拉着拖纤往上走。
第二次，我找到了点儿感觉，刚下去滑得还可以，可是滑到下面有很多人，这时我想起“不怕摔，就怕撞”这句滑雪场上的，眼看撞车不可避免，那就只好委屈一下自己，就势摔了一下。到了下面，我向四周望望，发现爸爸妈妈都不在了，再仔细看看，原来妈妈因为胆小就没下来，爸爸在半路摔了一跤，还没起来，我笑得连嘴都合不上了。再往后，我和爸爸又滑了好几个回合，已经比较自如了，可妈妈却总是摔跤，等我们再次回到上面时，妈妈居然提出想回去的念头，那怎么可以?我和爸爸不断地鼓励妈妈，让她勇敢一些，妈妈滑了几次后，爸爸指出了她的问题，又鼓励妈妈去尝试，结果这次顺利第滑到了终点，一个跟头都没摔!我和爸爸真为妈妈高兴，现在我和爸爸妈妈可以在雪道上“比翼齐飞”了，真爽!
又滑了几轮后，我和爸爸准备挑战中级雪道。到了顶端，我觉得会滑初级道，就应该会滑中级道，都是同一个道理，我无所顾忌地滑了下去，可没滑几下就摔倒了，在滑下来的路上，我心里扑通扑通直跳，非常紧张。下来后，我心理想:中级雪道真不是想象的那样简单，而是又高又陡又长，滑下时速度越来越快，而我又没有掌握好转弯和刹车的技术，容易失控。爸爸鼓励我再滑一次，我真是太害怕了，不过还想再试试，就跟着爸爸上去了。爸爸先出发了，我想调整好方向，可是由于出发点没有平地，稍微挪动一下就会摔倒，这样反复几次后，我怎么也不敢滑了，就这样在上面呆了半天。这时我突然看见，远远的，爸爸迈着沉重的脚步爬了上来，我知道爸爸是怕我有危险才又艰难地上来，其实他已经很累了。我不想让爸爸再走了，一努劲儿滑了下去。虽然这次我又摔了两个跟头，但我战胜了心里的恐惧，超越了自己，真的很开心，爸爸妈妈也为我骄傲!
滑雪结束了，我们拖着疲惫的身体恋恋不舍地离开了滑雪场。虽然大家身上都酸疼酸疼的，但是想想滑雪所带来的乐趣，我们还是非常快乐，相约以后再来。
