我们先来到了乾陵的陪葬墓之一永泰公主墓。永泰公主是是唐中宗李显的第七个女儿，唐高宗李治和武则天的孙女。公元701年，永泰公主于洛阳，年仅17岁。她是中国历史上唯一一个坟墓被冠称为“陵”的公主，规格与帝王相等。她只活了十七岁，根据墓志铭记载，永泰公主因难产而。而据史书记载，她因议论武则天与张易之、张昌宗的丑事而被武则天“杖”。至盛的哀荣与早逝的生命，不会是没有原因的。其实，无论哪一种都是封建社会对这个花朵一样生命的摧残，哪一种都记载了这个少女不幸的人生。
永泰公主墓前排列有石狮1对，石人2对，华表1对。墓为覆斗形，墓道全长87.5米，宽3.9米，墓室深16.7米。全墓由墓道、5个过洞、6个天井、甬道、8个便房、前后墓室组成，象征着永泰公主生前居住的多宅院落。天井两侧的便房内放着各种三彩俑群和陶瓷器皿等随葬品，由于多次被盗墓者光顾，随葬品大多被窃，只剩下了原始壁画和众多的唐三彩。
