秋高气爽，晴空万里。早秋的北京，微风吹过感到一丝丝凉意。一大早我们就来到举世闻名的长城。
我们登上长城，爬到了一个较高的烽火台，此刻我已是汗流浃背。我满怀豪情吟颂着的诗句：“不到长城非好汉”。放眼向四周望去，长城就像一条巨龙，蜿蜒盘旋在崇山峻岭之中，穿过苍莽的树林，翻越陡峭的岩石，从山海关一直延伸到嘉峪关，越过了好几个省，因此它得到了“万里长城”的美称。据历史记载，有二十多个诸侯国和封建王朝修筑过长城，若把各个时代修筑的.长城加起来大约有十万里以上。其中秦、汉、明三个朝代修筑的长城都超过了一万里。
我们登上长城，踏着长城的石阶，扶着城墙上的栏杆，一会儿缓，一会儿急。每隔大约300米就有一座烽火台。据说古时候，只要看见了敌军就点火，靠点火来传递信息。
我又想起了一个小故事，讲的是古时候修建嘉峪关城时需要成千上万块长2米、宽0.5米、厚0.3米的石条，人抬不起，车拉不上，且山高路远，无法运输。眼看隆冬季节就要到了，石条还没有从山里运出一块，这时有人想到了一个好办法：等到冬季到来后，众人从山上往嘉峪关城修一条路，在路面上泼水，寒风吹过，结成一条冰道，然后把石条放在冰道上滑行，非常顺利地把石条运到了嘉峪关城下。是劳动人民的汗和智慧凝结成了这条高大雄伟的万里长城!
两千年来，万里长城减缓了战争的破坏，保护了中原地区的农耕，促进了社会经济的发展。
据说从太空回望，万里长城是地球上唯一能望得见的人工工程。

万里长城一次整理书籍的时候，我意外得到了一张长城邮票。长城是我国著名的宏伟的名胜古迹之一，在这条长城上曾经发生了许许多多光荣的历史。现在我们来谈谈关于长城的古老故事吧。
距现在两千多年前的战国时代，各个诸侯国之间战争不断。而当时打仗主要依靠步兵，用泥土筑成一道城墙，便足够抵挡外来侵犯的那些敌人。所以，每个国家都会有自己的城墙。同时，在北方的那些游牧民族，古代叫他们匈奴，同样经常要南下去侵略，因此秦、赵、燕等国先后都在自己的北方边境上建造了城墙。
公元前221年，秦始皇终于统一中国派大将蒙恬带领军队去驱逐匈奴人，而且把各国的城墙都连接起来，再扩建加固。这样的话，在中国的北方土地上，便出现了一座壮观的万里长城。万里长城的存在，的确保护了北方地区人民及财产的安全。现在，打仗已经远离我们而去了，但是呢用数百万士兵和穷苦百姓用呕心沥搭建的长城被已经写进中国历史的历史书中。每一个字都闪烁着能感动人心的光辉们一行字中都包含民族液的一股强大的不怕困难的力量。
现在，万里长城现在成了旅游的景点，它包含着中华人民对祖国的热爱和喜庆。每年都有多少中华儿女到长城观光旅行，欣赏它的美丽风景，中国有有一句关于长城的古话“不到长城非好汉”我爱这张邮票！
