放学回家，我觉得自己的脚步是那么沉重，心情是那么难过，脸色是那么阴沉。一进家门，我直奔自己的小房间扑倒床上就哭了起来，心里在说妈妈我对不住你。我好想考一个满分给你作为生日礼物，可是我只考了７８分。妈妈回来看到我扑在床上，立刻过来摸我的头，问我有什么事。我说了。妈妈听了，没有生气，没有狠狠地批评我，而是语重心长地对我说：“你要找原因，分析自己考不好的问题所在。”“我以为自己复习过了就不会出问题，自满了。”妈妈听了我的话转身出去了。
过了一会儿，妈妈回来了。这时，我看到妈妈的手里多了两张纸条。她走到我面前打开纸条说：“这是我送给你的礼物，你一定要记住上面所写的。”我看到一条上面写着“虚心使人进步，骄傲使人落后。”另一条上写着：“书山有路勤为径，学海无涯苦作舟。”我看着这一付对联，点了点头。妈妈又开口说话了：“记住学无止境，不要以为自己一学就到顶了，要活到老，学到老。知识是学不完的。”我点头表示同意。
我接过妈妈手中的对联，把它们挂在床头的墙上。我每天都要看看这一付对联，提醒自己要努力，不要骄傲。果然，以后的考试，我大多得满分，至少也在九十分以上。你能说这对联不珍贵吗？

我来到爸爸跟前，朝着旅行包左瞧瞧瞧，右瞧瞧，翻来翻去，除了衣服和我送给他的幸运链，其它什么都没有。
我生气了：“你又捉弄我，你怎么这样，哼!我再也不信任你了!”说完，我扭头就走。爸爸连忙拉住我，赔着笑脸说：“好女儿，不生气，爸爸没骗你，你想想，爸爸走之前，你说了什么?”“我说了，说了……”“你这个小傻瓜，你说了让爸爸戒烟的，对不对?你闻闻爸爸的嘴里。”爸爸张开嘴，我闻了闻，往日那熏人的烟味已经没有了，还有一股淡淡的茶叶香呢!
