1。 头绪分明，脉络清楚
写好记叙文，首先要头绪分明，脉络清楚，明确文章要求写什么。要对所写的事件或人物进行分析，弄清事件发生、发展一直到结束的整个过程，然后再收集选取素材。这些素材都应该跟上述五个“ W ”和一个“ H ”有关。尽管不是每篇记叙文里都必须包括这些“ W ”和“ H ”，但动笔之前，围绕五个“ W ”和“ H ”进行构思是必不可少的。
2。 突出中心，详略得当
在文章的框架确定后，对支持故事的素材的选取是很关键的。选材要注意取舍，应该从表现文章主题的需要出发，分清主次，定好详略。要突出重点，详写细述那些能表现文章主题的重要情节，略写粗述那么非关键的次要情节。面面俱到反而使情节罗列化，使人不得要领。这一点是写好记叙文要解决的一个基本问题，也需要一定的技巧。如：
One night a man came to our house and told me， "There is a family with eight children。 They have not eaten for days。" I took some food with me and went。
When I finally came to that family， I saw the faces of those little children disfigured （破坏外貌） by hunger。 There was no sorrow or sadness in their faces， just the deep pain of hunger。
I gave the rice to the mother。 She divided the rice in two， and went out， carrying half the rice。 When she came back， I asked her， "Where did you go?" she gave me this simple answer， "To my neighbors — they are hungry also!"
3。 用活语言，准确生动
记叙文要用具体的事件和生动的语言对人、事、物加以叙述。一篇好的记叙文的语言既要准确、生动，又要表现力强，这样才能把人、事描写得具体生动，其可读性才强。试比较下面一篇例文修改的前后效果。
原文：
One day Xiaoqiang was wandering away。 He was soon lost among people and traffic。 He could not find the way back home and started crying。 Just then， two young students who were passing by found him standing alone in front of a shop and crying。 They went up to Xiaoqiang and asked him what had happened。 Xiaoqiang told them how he got lost and where he lived。 The two students decided to take him home。 Mother was pleased to see Xiaoqiang come back safe and sound。 She invited the two students into the house and gave them some money， but they didn＇t take it。 She served them with tea but they left。
修改后：
The other day， five-year-old Xiaoqiang left home alone and wandered happily in the street。 After some time， he felt hungry so he wanted to go back home。 But he found he was lost among the crowded people and heavy traffic。 When he could not find the way home， he started and crying。 Just then， two young students who were passing by from school found him sanding crying in front of a shop。 They immediately went up to him。
"Little boy， why are you standing here crying?" they asked。
"I want Mom， I go home。" said the boy， still crying。
"Don＇t worry， we＇ll send you home。"
And they spent the next two hours looking for the boy＇s house。 With the help of a policeman， they finally found it。
When the worried mother saw her son come back safe and sound， she was so thankful and she invited the students into her house。 Gratefully， she offered them some money， saying it was a way to express her thanks， but the young students firmly refused it and left without even a cup of tea。

他，在高一明亮的夏日里，被我邂逅。我，在每一个遇见的瞬间，被他震撼。就是这样，我不否认，我喜欢上他了。他有着足够的魅力，让我为之痴狂，让我将自己的喜怒哀乐全跟随了他。

我开始认识他。我们开始在每个瞬间“巧遇”。于是他也渐渐认得我。他不知道，我为了这每一次的巧遇，曾傻傻地在他的教学楼下装作走过的样子一个小时，曾经为了想多看他一会而报那些我并不想参加的补习班。而那些补习班，他也只来过几次，就没有坚持了。每次望着他那空空的位置，心中亦是无限落寞。他又没有来。我知道，此刻他应该在网吧里泡着，或是在球场上挥汗如雨。他就是这样的.人，放荡不羁，冷漠，甚是高傲，而学习成绩亦是优秀。关于他的一切，我只知道这么多。我亦是不知晓他的过去，他的心灵，他的任何微小事情，我从不得知――似乎已经注定，他只是我心中的一个意象，而他本身是那么远，那么高不可摸。存在的，只是一个精神上的寄托，而那实实在在的肉体，那萦绕的淡淡香皂味，似乎与我相隔几亿光年的距离，似乎我已忽视这客观的存在。
喜欢一个人，而他却不得知，不会来和你一起分担这份思念之苦，这真的是一种悲哀。而我，就在这样浓的思念和悲哀中，错误地喜欢了他，而且，还以一种旺盛的生命力延续着。
他喜欢一个人在阳台上看天。我为什么知道呢？他看天的时候我就在看他。他好象很疲惫，总是将自己的两只手全部衬在阳台上，趴着。我不知道他是用这样的形式休息呢，还是用这样的方式发呆。后来他告诉我，他用这样的方式悲哀一些事。他没有告诉我的时候，我就已经学会在他趴着的时候为他心疼。我们的教室，中间隔了两个班。人多的时候，挤挤嚷嚷，我就会看不见他。我会着急。我将手反在墙上，身体前倾，视线越过人群，然后看到他。于是才安心。这样的我，就像一个等待公车的要回家的小孩，这样焦急地等着车子来。时不时地朝车子的方向望望，才安心。他，就是这样让我牵挂。中间人少的时候，他也可以看见我。我就是这样怔怔地直视他，他亦知道是我。可是，他却不知道我的表情。因为，他是近视眼。他看不到这样远的距离。呵呵。是啊，他看不到我，我应该是哭还是笑。

我们竟渐渐熟络起来。我们成了网络中的朋友，现实中的陌生人。造成这样是因为我看见他我就紧张，不自然，也不敢和他打招呼。只是在他不解的眼光中匆匆溜走。到是他，碰到了似乎是要和我打招呼，可我总找些理由赶紧走开。
看吧，他只适合活在你的幻想里，当他从中走出来，亦已不是他了。
我又一次这样对自己说。依旧感情复杂。不知该笑还是该哭。
我们真的成了另一个世界的朋友。我们在网上，相处融洽。我们开始告诉对方一些事情。他也告诉我他以前的女朋友的事情。呵呵，他的以前。一块我多么想涉入的地方。曾经有过一个在一起三年的女朋友。分居两地，感情渐渐淡出。分手了，那女孩哭得很伤心。
