在一片一望无际的海洋上，有一座杳无人烟的岛屿，上面有一片黑森，这片森林是身体庞大的怪兽的家，也是凶猛动物的猎食场，更是精灵们的聚会场所。精灵的身体很小，有一双薄薄的翅膀，还有一双大耳朵。由于他们身体轻巧如羽毛，所以只再晚上出现。
在夏天的晚上，全森林的动物、怪兽和精灵都会在皎洁的月光下，围着火堆唱歌跳舞，在池塘里的鱼也被感染到轻松愉快的气氛，跟着舞动起来，猫头鹰也会“咕咕咕咕”的跟着叫，全森林都会变的热闹起来。在它们的周围，小花、小草及大树都会随着微风轻轻的摆动起来。
当月亮再度从云的背后探出头照在那些花花草草上时，花草便会显示出诡异的颜色。长了许久的树婆婆让那些蔓藤在它身上攀爬着直到它们把它的身体都包起来，就像穿了一见厚厚的蔓藤大衣。树婆婆也会让鸟儿在它的头上栖息、筑巢，以及让猫头鹰在它身上唱摇篮曲，让森林里的生物能安心入睡。
