我最爱吃的米食是菜包，传说，客家人以米食做成饺子形菜包，藉此追怀祖先，以解相思之情，菜包因为形状像猪笼，所以又叫做猪笼粄，我觉得里面包的萝蔔丝很香又很好吃。还有另外一种绿色艾草菜包，它的外皮很有弹性，它里面包的是萝蔔干丝，也很香，艾草有解热，避邪等功效。我的'外婆常常给我吃菜包，吃到的人保证会让你觉得这是人间美味，因为她做的馅料是独一无二的，没人比得过她。
米的营养完整且均匀，是供给人体热量的最大来源，米能抑制人体脂质含量上升的效用，而且较不会有心脏管疾病和肥胖症，因此要养成吃饭配菜的习惯。
