“遥想公瑾当年，小乔初嫁了，雄姿英发。”，一代文豪苏东坡都对其推崇至此，可见周瑜的才干与智慧决非一般。周瑜的用兵，才干，文学可以说均不亚于孔明，而且周瑜还是人见人爱的美男子，可周瑜与孔明比有一个致命弱点，便是气度小。有个成语叫“恃才自傲”，当他生活在那种人人不如他，舍我其谁的圈子里时，可能他会发挥得很好，可一旦有人和他不相上下或是超过他时，他不去欣赏，去为他喝彩，反而怨恨他人，最终郁闷而，为后人惋惜。周瑜其实并非败于孔明，乃是败给自己，败于自己没有那种为别人喝彩的气度。
