为了省下一笔昂贵的住宿费，大白从一个自带浴室和卫生间的房间，搬去一个远郊的偏僻老房子里。她把所有行囊塞进那辆掉漆的二手本田车，大包小包紧紧贴在车窗上，油门一踩，锅碗瓢盆叮当作响，那是她全部资产奏出的交响乐，仿佛正唱出一场悲壮的迁徙。
大白搬去的新家，整个房间只装得下一张单人床，简陋的铁皮床架抵着发黄的墙壁，天花板的角落里藏着斑斑霉点，脚底那层被踏到薄薄的旧地毯，散发出长年累月的咖喱味。我环顾着整间房子廉价又陈旧的摆设，余光碰撞着五十几岁的女房东。那个干瘪瘦小的印度女人，像是一只失掉水分的果子，有着枯柴般的手臂和鹰一般的眼睛，在一栋年久失修的房子里神出鬼没。
这大概是新西兰最冷的一个冬天，窗外的杂草也蒙上一层霜色，破旧的木房子在狂风中吱吱作响，我担忧地问大白，“这地方看起来那么冷，你确定要住下来？”大白没空抬头看我，麻利地在铁架床上垫上几层褥子，顺手往窗沿边摆了一株多肉，嘟囔说，“这就好了，看起来暖和多了。”
那株多肉，姿态茂盛地生长着，还真有点春天的味道。
几个月前大白突然和我说，她终于攒好读书的学费，可以实现在国外读书的心愿了。这个九零后的姑娘，一年前拿着打工度假签证，一个人漂洋过海来到南半球。她在暴晒的天气里摘过樱桃，也在零度的冷藏室里包装过奇异果，在日本料理店“姨拉下姨妈伞”地招待过顾客，也在爆忙的咖啡馆里连续八个小时不停地打咖啡，拼命地赚钱，只为了实现出国留学这个单纯的梦想。
我和大白在同一个屋檐下有过短暂的交集，此后便维持着一段长久的友谊。她是我见过的最坦诚而努力的一个人，性格刚烈，乐观上进。我们在彼此最艰难的时刻相遇，在那个租客来了又去的房子里，倚在夜晚的阳台上，分享过很多心事和忧愁。
大白家境不好，母亲下岗多年，父亲是普通工人，她从大学开始就没再管家里伸手要过钱。毕业之后，大白看着同班富有的同学出国就像出门乘凉般简单，虽然羡慕，却只能找一份踏踏实实的工作，一边为自己的未来算计，一边坚持从中抽出一部分，孝敬辛苦了一辈子的爸妈。她兢兢业业把一份工作做了三年，才攒出一个出国看看的机会，大白办好签证，往大衣口袋里塞了二百块纽币，只带了一张单程的机票，她调侃自己，“梦想没有回头路”。
出国的日子是辛苦的，大白一个人单枪匹马，最苦的时候住仓库，吃老干妈配白米饭，常常要无间断地工作十几个小时。可是再难的日子都还不忘给爸妈的账户里打钱，从未听到过她对命运的抱怨，用她的.话说，“既然家境不好，那就要努力要家境好起来啊！”
她的姿态坦荡诚恳，完全不像我身边另一群姑娘，看见同龄女孩子背著名贵的包包，擦著名牌的香水，可以随意进出昂贵的餐厅，就用那虚荣又懒惰的声音抱怨着，“哎，瞧瞧人家爸妈，我怎么就没有人家含着金勺的命？！”
大概是因为贫穷又努力的缘故，我和大白的友谊特别深刻，对彼此来说都是的存在。我心领神会她为了省三块钱公交车费而走路一个半钟头的时刻，她也完全懂得我从打工的餐馆把员工餐装得满满的只为把晚饭钱攒进微薄的账户里。她知道我热爱写字，不要脸地相信未来的自己成为一个大作家，而我也总是看到她数钱的背影，那些钞票干干净净，一张接着一张，让人相信总有一天它们可以铺向一个女孩光明美好的未来。
那一年我们是那么地贫穷，她穷到牛仔裤的破洞越来越大也不肯换条新的，我穷到交过学费银行卡里只剩下两块多纽币，可是我们却依旧相信，这生活一定有好的东西，慢慢慢慢地在到来。
偶尔有富裕又虚荣的姑娘带着嘲讽的语气问大白，“哎呦你这么拼怎么也不给自己买几件像样的衣服啊？”也有猥琐的有钱男人想用金钱换取她十年的努力，趁机想去摸她的大腿，可是大白始终把把头扬得高高的，把所有的嘲讽和诱惑统统挡在自己的生活外，“这么好的青春，让人忍不住想好好努力啊！”
有人说好姑娘应该是一株朝阳的向日葵，我想了想，似乎不是所有好姑娘都有机会做一株向日葵，如果你不能，那就做一个像大白一样的姑娘吧，做一个永久的太阳，制造属于自己的光束。

Parents want their children to learn so their lives will improve. It also showed me that children in schools everywhere wants to play with their friends. Sometimes the games are similar to ours and sometimes they’re different. Still, they all have the common purpose of fun and learning to work together.
Earning a living is another common goal. I’ve often seen that in movies about other countries. In some countries, people choose their careers from what they like and are good at. In other countries, careers are chosen for them following the traditions of their families. But in every country it seems that people care a great deal about earning a living, and working hard is respected.
Showing people having fun together is always an important part of any movies, no matter what country it comes from. People everywhere want to be entertained, and want to spend time with their families and friends. Different cultures sometimes enjoy different activities, but all cultures enjoy some form of sports, music and dancing.
The movies I’ve seen make it clear to me that no matter the cultural differences between countries, people everywhere have the same basic needs and goals.
