随后一阵急促的下楼声，紧接着开门声响起，门打开了，雯雯穿着一身洁白的连衣裙，粉红的脸蛋，马尾辫伴随这秋风摇摆飘扬，看起来是那么的让人羡慕。
“你妈妈又给你来信了，真羡慕你。”
雯雯忙说谢谢，双手接过信件，像一场特殊的仪式一样，神圣而又庄严。这样的影像在邮递员眼里已经习以为常，从他干着行当开始到现在从未间断过，数起来也有十几年了，每次都是那样的兴奋，像中了头奖似的。
可他怎么也想不明白，这么些年间从未见周雅雯的妈妈回来过，这是他最纳闷的地方。
这是第三百六十二封信了，雯雯小心的拆开信封，取出信笺，还是那熟悉的字迹，还是那永恒的思念。
“雯雯，最近好吗，想妈妈了吗，这些天妈妈学会了很多好吃的菜，等妈妈挣够了钱回国后做给雯雯和爸爸，你们最近……。”雯雯用心读着妈妈写的文字，露出了甜美的笑容，然后小心翼翼的放入抽屉中，转身回到厨房，给马上就要下班回家的爸爸准备午饭。
午饭期间，雯雯问爸爸：“爸，怎么妈妈来的这么多信中怎么没有一个有地址的。”
爸爸思考了一会儿：“傻孩子，你还不知道吧，国外在信封上是不写地址的。”
“奥，”雯雯点了点头。
雯雯打小记事起就没见过妈妈了，印象中妈妈的样子很模糊。她几次问爸爸，爸爸总是吞吞吐吐的说几句，问问也信以为真，雯雯觉得，这么些年都是他和爸爸相依为命，爸爸是不会骗她的。
每次孤单时，除了上班的爸爸，陪伴她的就是着这三百多封信，雯雯一个个打开，回忆生活的点点滴滴，妈妈也会给她讲最近发生的大事，还会和她谈及梦想和未来，有时一个故事，妈妈要分几封信给她讲完，等信的日子也成为了雯雯的一种信仰。
爸爸没有什么爱好，逐渐的和烟打上了交到，雯雯知道爸爸孤寂烦闷的时候就只有这个方法缓解一下。但雯雯发现最近几天的`爸爸咳嗽的特别严重，时间长了还能吐出丝来。雯雯坚持让爸爸去医院检查，但结果却是，肺癌晚期。
由于长时间的抽烟和压力过大，不合理的习惯而引起的。这无疑是晴天霹雳。
对于病情雯雯一直隐瞒这爸爸，告诉他只是肺病，住院几个月就好了。
雯雯知道时间不多了，就开始学习烹饪美食，让爸爸吃上美味的饭菜，给他讲笑话逗她开心。
看着脸色日益苍白的爸爸，雯雯怎么也笑不出来。
在这期间，雯雯又收到妈妈寄给她的两封信，文风却一转，对她讲述未来的渴望和打算，细心的她还发现，妈妈的字体一次比一次糟糕，信的最后妈妈告诉雯雯，在以后的信中会逐渐告诉她的身世以及出国的原因。
雯雯早想知道这事，但好几次妈妈都避开了这个话题，这对于雯雯来说是个偌大的惊喜。
可是日子一天天过去，妈妈的信始终没有来到，爸爸的病情逐渐加重，医院下达了病危通知书，爸爸的呼吸非常困难，必须用氧气供养，连说话都成了问题。
雯雯整天陪在爸爸身边，从爸爸的眼神中雯雯觉得爸爸想要说什么，看着爸爸滴水未进骨瘦如柴的样子，雯雯终于忍不住，声泪俱下。
终于，爸爸在睡梦中停止了呼吸，结束了自己的生命，安详的离开了这个世界，与这萧瑟的秋天一同离去。
在整理病床时，雯雯发现床垫下的一支钢笔和信笺，在未写完的信上面布满了滴。
“雯雯，妈妈对不起你，在很早就离开了你和爸爸，去了很远很远的地方，那一个世界非常安静……“”
看着看着，泪花打在了信笺上，如同秋雨一样打在了脆弱的心上，雯雯终于明白，她一下跪在了爸爸遗体旁，再一次的失声痛苦。
