为什么鲨鱼会第一个绝迹呢？因为每年人类掉的鲨鱼数量高达550万只，而真正数量可能还不止这么多。在我们国家，吃鱼翅代表着财富和尊贵，随着人们收入的增加，人们对鱼翅的需求也越来越多，对捕鱼的人来说也是一笔很大的收入。可是，让人难过的是，渔船捕捉到鲨鱼后，因为鲨鱼很大，占据了船舱，而且吃鲨鱼肉的人很少，所以船员只把鱼翅割下来，就把剩下的鲨鱼放回海里，没有鱼翅的鲨鱼不久就掉了。
另一个严重的问题是，鲨鱼成熟晚，生小鲨鱼的数量少，而且成长速度慢，大约十年才能长成一条成年的鲨鱼。好不容易长大的鲨鱼，却因为鱼翅而失去了性命，所以鲨鱼越来越少了。
