桂圆在小芽的时候仅有两三片叶子组成，需要几年才能长成大树。树的叶子是长卵形的。树木即葱郁又茂盛，简直是苍翠欲滴。它高有5。6米，不久就会长出小花，花的颜色是洁白的，其中还带着一总淡黄色，显得很淡雅，还有一股淡淡的清香。仔细观察桂圆，它的外皮是土黄色的。轻轻的剥开外皮，就会看到洁白，晶莹剔透的果肉，果肉里包着一棵紫红色的果核，好像一棵玛瑙，十分漂亮！
