董卿坦言,观众对于这一节目的热情,让她略微有点出乎意料。但是,2016年2月份她开始写《朗读者》创意案的时候,潜意识中已有一种感受,是时候做这样的节目了。
“当我提出这个案子之后,从同行到客户,几乎没有人提反对意见,大家觉得,好像中央电视台是应该做这么一个节目了,这也给了我很多信心。”
那么,大家对知识类节目的这种热情,有多少会转化为对知识本身的渴求?董卿说,“这很难去做一个统计,但如果说唤醒了观众的一种新的认知,就成功了一部分。所谓的知识点是没有太大用处的,知道一百首诗,一千首诗,这些数字是没有意义的。有意义的是,你从中认识到了什么,或是跟你的人生体验是否有所结合,帮助你成长,重新去审视周边。”
很多观众惊讶于《中国诗词大会》中董卿的诗词量,对此董卿称,“可能因为诗词大会涉及的面比较广,有些正好在我知识点上,正好和大家应和一下,我不会盲目地展现自己对诗词量的储备,或者去显示自己。”

I am writing this letter to express my gratitude to my parents for teaching me to be positive and to be strong. “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” is the opinion held by Aristotle. It is the experience of our forefathers, however, it is correct even today, including my parenting.
It is widely acknowledged that parenting, which can also be explained as family education, is of great significance in our character forming and manner acquiring. To be more detailed, setting good examples instead of just giving precepts is the greatest achievement of my parents. They not only taught me to think for the best and prepare for the worst; they taught me how. They not only told me the benefits of being strong in mind; they proved it. All those things require huge amount of time and work, but it’s worth it.
Without my parents’ contribution and education, I would never be who I am now. But most importantly, I would never be more gratitude to them than today.

《朗读者》是董卿特别坚持要做的节目。但阅读其实是一件很私人的事,它为什么需要被搬上屏幕?
对此,董卿直言,阅读是很私人的事情,但朗读不是,朗读要有对象,它和唱歌一样。只不过我们很多人没有形成这种习惯,因为它显得略微有些正式。
“我对文字是有偏爱的。我其实是变相给大家一段阅读时间,不长,也就一个多小时。”
那么到底给观众读什么,选择标准是什么?董卿说,“我首先会问,我被感动了没有?我有没有看着看着就情不自禁地读出来。”
挑选朗读者是一件特别费神的事,董卿说,“他们经常会一页纸60人,密密麻麻,然后说勾吧,可能60个人里我只挑了10个、15个,然后他们特别沮丧地拿着那个名单就走了。再来一页纸60个人,再挑10个。”
董卿认为选的朗读者有知名度、影响力,肯定有利于传播。但仅仅有知名度是不够的',朗读者还必须很有个人魅力。就像翻译家许渊冲像一匹黑马一样出来。许渊冲是最早朗读嘉宾名单当中的一员,但开始的时候董卿还担心,会不会显得高冷。
柳传志在节目中朗读儿子婚礼的致词感动了无数观众。对此,董卿透露一个秘密。“柳总本身是一个非常认真的人,为了这个朗读,他跟我们非常认真地谈,光见面就有两次,然后通过秘书反复沟通。”“我第一次进他办公室,聊了一会儿,他就从西装口袋里掏出了一沓纸,叠得四四方方的,就是那段婚礼致辞。当时他儿子婚礼还没办。他说:‘我真的想了很长时间,要不先读给你们听听,你看这个成不成?’”
董卿说,当时去了三个女导演,加上他的两个秘书,一共五个人坐在他办公室,就静静听他把这封信读完,没有人出声,因为都哭了。“当时我觉得好尴尬呀,我们俩第一次见面,算是陌生人。我觉得,一个做父亲的人,不管有多成功,最后你就是个父亲,没什么比看到自己的孩子幸福更幸福的了。后来我们当即决定,就它了。”
