When your letter arrived, I was just in Hong Kong. As my family could not forward it to me during my absence, it has been, therefore, lying on my desk until the moment when I took it up. Now the first thing I have to hasten to do is to write to you these few lines to express my deep regret.
I enjoyed many pleasant sights during my trip. I shall be pleased to give you an account to of them when I see you next.

人活在世上，谁能没有几个朋友呢？但朋友也有几类，你是愿意交亲密之友，令人敬畏之友，还是愿意交那些庸俗之友、酒肉之友和那些江湖义气之友呢？
无疑，大多数人是愿意交亲密之友和令人敬畏之友的。因为亲密之友在你遇到困难危险时，能够与你同生，共命运，给予你斗争的力量；令人敬畏之友，虽然有时不免使人畏惧，但他能够尖锐地指出你的缺点，给你以及时的批评帮助，使你能够在学习和工作中不断进步。
以前，我在上小学时，学习成绩不好，而且长期没有长进。后来，在上初中时，我和我们班长结下了友谊，交了朋友，在他的督促和帮助下，我增加了学好功课的勇气和信心，学习成绩迅速提高，有几次成绩还超过了他。
也许有人认为“江湖义气之友”不赖，他们能够为朋友两肋插刀，为哥们义气什么都于得出来，这样的朋友最可靠。是的，这种朋友有时是能够为他们的.“哥们”出气报仇，但这却往往使很多青少年年纪轻轻就触犯了法律，成为人民的罪人。不是吗，年前在河滨公园刺两人的那个青年，不正是为了他的“哥们”丽成了人犯，最后被判处极刑吗？由此可见，这种朋友是绝对交不得的。
有些青年人没有交前一种朋友，也没有交后一种朋友，他们交了些庸俗之友和酒肉朋友，整天在一起厮混嬉闹，无所事事。这种朋友也交不得，它不能给人带来真正的友情。他们所谓的“友情”只能使人消沉，绝无益处。
朋友，就要有那种“从井以救人，解衣以活友”的精神，就要互相帮助，同生，共命运。
友谊，就要建立在互相信任、互相帮助的基础上，它会使你得到无穷的快乐和巨大的帮助。那令人敬畏哆朋友和亲密无间的朋友是真正可交的。
年轻的朋友，你也许正在交朋友，交什么样的朋友，一定要好好想想，一定要慎重，慎重！
交友信英语作文【五】
战国时期，有一个叫将闾的学者，鲁国的国君听说他很有见识，便召见他，请他讲一讲如何治理国家的事，将闾推辞不掉，便对鲁国的国君说：“要实行恭敬和节俭，擢用公正忠诚的人，行政大公无私，人民谁敢不和睦相处呢?”
将闾离开鲁国国君，总觉得自己说的不一定对，于是他找到当时很有名望的一个学者，名叫季彻，将闾向季彻说了给鲁国国君说的话，问季彻自己说的是否对。季彻听了没有说对也没有说不对，就给将闾讲了一个小故事。
季彻说：“一天他驾车出游，路上见一个螳螂在车辙里。它看到我的车子过来了，便奋力举起了它的双臂，企图阻止我的车子前进，我看着他的样子又佩服又可怜，佩服它的勇敢，可怜它的不自量力。”说完他哈哈的笑了。
螳臂挡车将闾吃惊地说：“先生是说鲁国国君照我说的去做，要实现圣明之治，如同螳螂挡车是不能胜任的吧!”季彻没有回答，他说：“最伟大的圣人治理天下的做法是，顺应民心的自然活动，来完成教化，改易俗习。这样人民都能去掉有害心思，增进专一于道的志向。就好像随本性自然形成，而不知为什么会这样。要使天下皆同一于自然之德，必须使内心安定才是。”
鲁国的国君照将闾的见解治理国家，麻烦事一天比一天多，连自己也处于危险境地，他就不再实行了。
