寒冷的冬天，北风不停地怒吼着，大雪纷纷扬扬地飘落下来。大路旁的一座房子里，北极熊一家正围在餐桌旁，喝着滚烫的鱼汤。
“嘭嘭嘭”，传来急促(cù的敲门声。北极熊先生打开门，看见门外站着一只瑟(sè瑟发抖的狐狸。
“快进来，喝口鲜鱼汤暖暖身子。”北极熊先生热情地打招呼。
“可是我怎能白白地喝你们的鱼汤呢?”狐狸舔了舔嘴唇(chún。
“我们正想找人帮忙呢。你能帮我们把鱼垛(duò从厨房搬到储藏室吗?”北极熊夫人急忙插话。“能!”狐狸一阵惊喜，跟着北极熊夫人把鱼垛搬进储藏室。
“来，喝碗热汤，尝尝我做的烤鱼。”北极熊先生端着一碗热汤，拿着香喷喷的烤鱼。
看着打着饱嗝儿，消失在风雪中的狐狸，北极熊先生满意地笑了。
中午时分，一只老狗打门前路过，显得很虚弱。“来，喝碗热汤暖暖身子再走。”北极熊先生热情挽留。“我虽然饿，可我不想吃白食。”老狗说。
“怎么吃白食呢?我们正想请人把鱼垛从储藏室搬到厨房。”北极熊夫人说。
当老狗搬完鱼垛，坐在北极熊家桌旁喝鱼汤时，北极熊先生心里暖烘烘的。看着老狗大步流星地踏进风雪中，北极熊先生心里无比舒畅。
大路上不时有人路过，它们中的许多人把北极熊先生的鱼垛从储藏室搬到厨房，从厨房搬到储藏室。然后坐到桌旁喝着鱼汤就着烤得焦黄的烤鱼，一个个拍着鼓鼓的肚皮走了。
雪还是不停歇地下着，北极熊先生家的鱼垛渐渐矮了下去。一个冰天雪地的早晨，北极熊先生和夫人冒着寒风来到坚硬的冰面上，“嘭嘭嘭”地敲打着。它们想多逮点鱼，让鱼垛高起来。
