在阳江市江城区双捷镇乐安村325国道边,有所由一对汉族夫妇创办的云南移民小学。
10年前，这对夫妻跟着老乡们来到阳江的一个砖厂打工。厂里的工人大多数是来自云南的苗族同胞，文化程度较低，只能从事高强度的体力工作，而这对汉族夫妇的\'文化程度算是比较高的。由于当地的学校学费比较贵，苗族工友们的孩子上不起学，他们便鼓励这对汉族夫妻开办了一个学校。
因为资金短缺，这对夫妇只能租用当地村民的瓦房作为教室。慢慢地，周边一些移民过来的苗族同胞知道这里开办了可以教授苗语的学校，都纷纷送自己的孩子到这里上学。学生最多的时候有一百多人，夫妇两人忙不过来，还聘请了专职老师来教学。
移民小学的苗族学生刚上学时都听不懂普通话，这对夫妇便先把汉语翻译成苗族家乡话，然后再一遍遍地教学生练习普通话发音。在这对夫妇看来，就算再苦再难教，只要孩子们能识字读书，他们就觉得一切付出都是值得的。随着学生的增多，夫妇俩最终还贷款买下了一栋两层楼用于教学。
随着九年义务教育政策的实施，很多家长陆续把学生送回云南老家上学了，移民小学的学生越来越少。因为学生少，这对夫妇的收入也越来越低。迫于生活的压力，他们课余时间不得不做一些兼职来补贴家用。尽管困难重重，可是这对夫妇没有放弃，他们一如既往地默默为这些苗族孩子奉献着，连自己的名字都不愿告诉别人。

1992年，我家迁到了阳江市江城区白沙街道大岗村委会杨屋寨村。初来乍到，我们缺少致富启动资金，家庭主要经济收入只能靠种水稻、花生、薯类，日子过得艰苦。当地政府了解到我们的困难后，在农村土地承包、良种良法培训、农村小额贷款等方面给予我们许多支持和帮助。邻居们对我们也很友善，农闲时介绍我们到周边的工厂打工。
1995年，我家迎来了两件喜事，一是盖起了占地80平方米的两层小楼，二是我考上了县一中当老师。我打心眼里感谢当地政府。
2014年，当地政府筹资近400万元，全力实施扶贫“双到”开发工程，将大岗村打造成美丽乡村建设示范点，为群众创造宜居宜业的环境，并投资15万元建设全区首个村级公共服务平台——大岗村公共服务站。
现在，我们村有了水泥硬化的道路，盖起了漂亮的小洋楼，有了干净的自来水，通了电视、电话和网络，卫生条件也得到了极大的改善。工作闲暇之余，我还参加政府组织的少数民族群众劳动技能培训班，努力提高文化素质和劳动技能，从而增加收入、奔康致富。如今的大岗村已成为我的第二故乡。
