My mum is not only a good teacher, but also a great mother. She is patient with me and always smiling while talking. My mum teaches me how to think independently and helps me to build up my confidence. When I have some difficulties in my studies, it is my mum who encourages me to work until I solve the problem. When I’m feeling sad or bad, it is also my mum who looks after me with care.
I remember when I caught a fever at midnight last year, my mum took me to the hospital as fast as she could. When we got home after my injection, it was about 5 o’clock in the early morning. My mum only slept 2 hours because she had to wake up at 7 o’clock to prepare breakfast for me, and then she went to work. She must be very tired that day.
My mum is not very beautiful, but I admire and love her.

??澜：一个人的美食，是另一个人的毒药“逐臭之夫”字典上说：“犹言不学好下向之徒。”这与我们要讲的无关，接着解“喻嗜好怪癖异于常人”，就是此篇文章的主旨。你认为是臭的，我觉得很香。外国人人亦言“一个人的美食，是另一个人的毒药”，实在是适者珍之。
最明显的例子就是榴莲了，强烈的爱好或特别的憎恶，并没有中间路线可走。我们闻到榴莲时喜欢得要命，但报纸上有一段港闻，说有六名意大利人，去到旺角花园街，见有群众围着，争先恐后地挤上前，东西没看到，只嗅到一阵毒气，结果六人之中，有五个被榴莲的味道熏得晕倒，此事千真万确，可以寻查。
和穷困有关，中国的发霉食物特别多，内地有些省份，家中人人有个臭缸，什么吃不完的东西都摆进去，发霉后，生出碧绿色的菌毛，长相恐怖，成为美食。
臭豆腐已是我们的国宝，黄的赤的都不吓人，有些还是漆黑的呢。上面长满像会蠕动的绿苔，发出令人忍受不了的异味，但一经油炸，又是香的了。一般人还嫌炸完味道跑掉，不如蒸的香。杭州有道菜，用的是苋菜的梗，普通苋菜很细，真想不到那种茎会长得像手指般粗，用盐水将它腌得腐烂，皮还是那么硬，但里面的纤维已化为浓浆，吸噬起来，一股臭气攻鼻。用来和臭豆腐一齐蒸，就是名菜“臭味相投”了。
未到北京之前，被老舍先生的著作影响，对豆汁有强烈的憧憬，找到牛街，终于在回民店里喝到。最初只觉一口馊水，后来才喝出香味，怪不得当年有一家名店，叫为“馊半街”。不知者以为豆汁就是大豆磨出来，像豆浆，坏不到哪里去。其实只是绿豆粉加了水，沉淀在缸底的淀粉出现灰色，像海绵的浆，取之发酵后做成的，当然馊。
南洋有种豆，很臭，干脆叫臭豆，用马来盏来炒，尚可口。另有一种草有异味，也干脆叫臭草，可以拿来煮绿豆汤，引经据典，原来臭草，又名芸香。
这些臭草臭豆，都比不上“折耳根”，有次在四川成都吃过，不但臭，而且腥，怪不得又叫“鱼腥草”，但一吃上瘾，从此见到此菜，非点不可。
洋食物的臭，不遑多让，他们的生火腿就有一股尸味道，与金华的香气差得远，那是腌制失败形成，有些人却是要吃这种失败味。其实他们的腌小鱼(Anchovy和我们的咸鱼一样臭，只是自己不觉。
日本琵琶湖产的淡水鱼，都用发酵的味噌和酒曲来腌制，称为“Nuka Tsuke”，也是臭得要。初试的外国人都掩鼻而逃，我到现在也还没有接受那种气味，但腐烂的`大豆做的“纳豆”，倒是很喜欢。
“你吃过那么多臭东西，有哪一样是最臭的?”常有友人问我。答案是肯定的，那是韩国人的腌魔鬼鱼，叫作“虹”，生产于祈安村，最为名贵，一条像沙发坐垫一样大的，要卖到七八千港币，而且只有母的才贵。腌好的虹鱼上桌，夹着五花腩和老泡菜吃，一塞入口，即刻有股强烈的阿摩尼亚味，像一万年不洗的厕所，不过像韩国人说的，吃了几次就上瘾。
天下最臭的，虹鱼还是老二，根据调查，第一应该是瑞典人做的鱼罐头，称为“Surstrommlng”。用鲱鱼做原料，生后让它发霉，然后入罐。通常罐头要经过高温菌，但此罐免了，在铁罐里再次发酵，产生强烈的气味，瑞典人以此夹面包或煮椰菜吃。
罐头上的字句警告，开罐时要严守四点：一、开罐前放进冰箱，让气体收缩。二、在家中绝对不能打开，要在室外进行。三、开罐前身上得着围裙。四、确定风向，不然吹了下去，不习惯此味的人会被熏昏。有一个家伙不听劝告，在厨房一打开，罐中液体四溅，味道有如十队篮球运动员一齐除下数月不洗的鞋子，整个家，变成名副其实的“臭屋”。

When I was in high school, there was a teacher who taught me more than that in was a very kind boy, 4 or 5 years older than us and taught us geography. We all liked to take his class, though geography was not our major course.
What impressed me a lot was his could see him always got angry only when we were too noisy in class,he often played soccer with used to be a very believable defender and never fouled on any of us.
We all liked to call him "Teacher Miao" and he was just like a friend, not a sonsy personality inspired me to be kind to everyone I was my well-beloved "Teacher Miao".
