Here Hemingway recasts,in strikingly contemporary style,the classic thene of courage in the face of defeat,of personal triumph won from los.
Written in 1952,this hugely successfully novella confirmed his power and presence in the literary world and played a huge part in his winning the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature.
The novel is very famous in the world, so lot of people like this novel. We also studied it in our Chinese class, Hemingways novel are always interesting I like his novel much, also in his novel we can learn a lot by his meanings.
It’s really a good novel for people to read.

路上的行人来回地穿梭在马路上，忙碌了一整天的工作，终于等来了这下班的时刻。匆匆的时光中谁也不愿意腾出一丝时间在路上闲谈，谁也没有那样的心情。虽然他们的方向各不相同，但从他们的表情可以看出，他们是在赶回家的路，而我是在远离家的路上。
来到车站的广场前，稀稀疏疏的可以看到三两群人，轻声地交谈着，也许那是远行者与送别者进行分别前一段不舍的话语。然后他们手里大包小包的领着行李走向了候车室。广场前的人们，大多都是远行的，来送别的没有多少个。
冷清的广场，候车厅却是坐满了人，一个个沉默的坐着，他们要去哪？是回家还是远行？然而不管他们是回家还是远行，其实那都基于同一个事实，他们都和我一样，将要踏上远离这座不发达城市的列车。播音员用平稳而有力的声音播放着下一次列车进站的信息，在这样的声音里，给大家带来了焦虑的心情。
登上列车的那一刻，那一幕惊人的场景，一整车的人挤在这样拥挤不堪的车厢里，精神疲惫得好像只剩下了躯体，有的甚至谁在了过道。其实不难想象，他们从始发站开始，忍受这皮肉之苦，忍受者寒冷与饥饿的折磨，进行着长达几十个钟头的旅途。对面的小伙子手托着下巴，眼睛流露出了一个将要开始艰难旅程的'人的所有惶惑与茫然。这列车承载着一整车的梦想，奔向了远方。
我头靠着窗，双眼望着窗外不断往后移的大片大片的田野，内心情绪却是起起落落。对自己的旅途感到不安，更是对自己人生道路的彷徨。我坚定地选择了离开，自己对前方的情景并不明确，正也是心里的模糊感增加了内心对远方的幻想。内心的驱使我踏上这一条路。面队远方无处不在的美好，谁还愿意背对诱惑，一生与水牛为伴，一起与黄土地沉默？
夜黑下去了，黑得完整而彻底。车窗外的一切，在也看不到了。世界沉默了，给人一种逼人的压力。我开始接受了这沉默。因为它把我带进了我哥的世界。在我哥的面前，我自己显得是那么的幼稚。他在我这个年龄的时候已经在外打拼三五年。而我在这里一事无成。大哥他是一个家也留不住的人，从小就离开了家，一个人在外辛辛苦苦，呕心历地要干一番事业。十几年来多少的辛酸，无人能理解，没有一个人为他分担。他都走过来了。是出与天性，还是命运，让他宁愿在外漂泊？在中国，这样的青年又有多少呢？人们就是在这样闯荡和漂泊的世界里感受到了生命的快感和满足了内心按捺不住的虚荣心。我深知道，每个流浪者的心中都有一个家，那个家或许只是对生活的某种抽象感觉罢了。正如大哥那样，一个真真实实存在可以为他遮风挡雨家，并不能消去他对大城市的追求。
