encouraged by his bravery , i continued advancing. soon all of my body was covered by water. before i got ready for a dive, a wave came over. it struck my face heavily and the water went into my eyes, nose and mouth. how bitter and salty it tasted! but i was not discouraged at all. i wiped off the water on my face, took a deep breath, and began swimming happily.
the waves became larger and larger, as if the sea was angry with me. when i saw a wave in the distance, i would hold my breath, and just before it came to where i was, i jumped up and easily kept myself from it. how exciting! i was just like lying on the clouds!
all that afternoon, i swam and jumped and had a very good time. when finally i had to leave, i took a last look at the sea. the waves were still beating the shore, but i was no longer frightened. “i must thank that little boy,”i said to myself.“it was he who gave me the courage.”

记得在小学三、四年级时，我的数学成绩不证明好，总是在八十多分上下浮动，或许是因为我心里比较害怕数学对这一学科有抵触情绪。到了六年级时面对着严峻的毕业，我才不得不硬着头皮去认真学习数学。直到那时，我才发现，原来数学并不像我想象中的那么可怕。我也才发现，数学其实是所有科目中最有趣的一科。
进入中学以后，我才真正发现了数学的神奇。它可以给我们带来无穷的乐趣。我在小学的数学基础又弄懂了许许多多的知识：代数式、有理数、整式、一元一次方程、二元一次方程组……在学习的过程中，难免会遇到一些挫折，由于自己的一点儿不慎而造成的遗憾，更是数不胜数。那些调皮的小精灵们利用你的一点儿弱点或缺陷，让你一败涂地。
在数学上，我最大的缺点是粗心。正是由于粗心，使我多次单元测试的成绩不尽人意;正是由于粗心，使我在期中考试中与年段第一名失之交臂，正是由于粗心，使我在各科的竞赛中成绩不佳……或许还有许多许多由粗心造成的遗憾，已消失在我的脑海中了。令我最苦恼的，也正是无法彻底地改掉粗心这个缺点。在这次数学期末考试中，我又重犯了粗心的毛病，马马虎虎，致使我的数学成绩比年段最好成绩低了6分之多。虽然，我知道只有改掉这个缺点，我的'数学成绩才能有明显的提高，但是，至今我还无法彻底改掉这个缺点。
我相信，以我真正的实力，学好数学不是不可能的。但是，不知道为什么，课内学习数学、做作业，我还能对付。可我一拿起课外的数学书，总觉挺难的，看不懂，尤其是几何图形方面，难以弄明白。我不想对课外习题产生抵触情绪。但是，一拿起课外习题，我的脑袋就发晕，它实在是太令人讨厌了。
说实话，我对数学还是有些兴趣的。但是，我不怎么喜欢一天到晚把头埋在那些习题中。可我也知道，数学能力是要靠大量的练习来巩固的。我想，若是有一条轻松一些、简捷一些的学习数学的道路，那数学一定会让更多的人喜欢它、学习它的。可惜的是，到目前为止，人们还没有知道这样的道路。
再过不久就要开学了。在新的学期里，我相信自己能改掉粗心这个缺点认真学习数学，让自己的数学学习得更好，使学习数学的道路不再坎坷。

记得我9岁的那一年夏天，我鼓起勇气去报名学游泳。我一直很怕水，但老师教我们“要学会挑战自己”。游泳分10天。
第一天，我早早就来到泳池，做好准备运动。开始上课了，教练叫我们分成几个小组。我和一个大姐姐分到了一组，她大概12岁左右吧！可由于我胆小又怕水，导致那个大姐姐陪我一起练习。
一天过去了，两天过去了……直到第九天，我的游泳却丝毫没有进步！
最后一天到了，我只学会了一点点。虽然那时候我是最差的，但是通过我天天在泳池里练习，我终于正式学会游泳了，还时不时当起了“小教练”。我以后一定要比9岁的.我更厉害。
因为我的坚持不懈，最终学会了游泳。我以后遇到困难要知难而进，不能放弃。这样，我才会解除困难的阻碍！
