专门化、劳动分工、强制措施，以及丧失人性，在城市范围内产生了一种内部紧张状态。这种紧张状态在历史发展的整个进程中形成了一种隐蔽的仇恨和公开的反叛的潜流……
劳动分工具有限定人的终生活动的性质，那么，又是什么使得劳动分工在数百年甚至数千年的时间里竟被人接受了呢？对此有各种不同的解释方法：首先是，劳动分工有助于创造第一次的经济繁荣，而人们自然首先看到经济繁荣的各种好处，最后才会看到它的各种不利之处……
幸而城市的社会结构有助于它克服自身对于人类的限制性和强制性。如果说城市肢解了人的整体并强迫他在单一的工作中度过一生，那么城市则又从一个新的.集团的实体上重新把人复原了；从而使得在单个的人生显得狭窄枯燥的同时，由此编织而成的城市整体却显得丰富多彩，因为编成它用了各色各样的线。各种专门团体不仅在城市中得以充分发展，它们在城市的有取有舍的日常交流中还发现了人类潜在能力的伟大财富，这是在先前简陋水平上所发现不了的。
最后，如果这种分工很细的城市人，丧失了简朴村庄环境中不自觉的整体观念，他至少可以相应地获得一种独立人格的新观念，这观念是从部落、氏族、家庭以及村庄的观念中蜕变而来的。……在社会的底层，这里可能有奴役与压迫，但在顶端，而且长久以来仅仅是在顶端，这里却有自由、自治、选择的机会等等，都是新型的人格属性；这是家族共居或部落一致的基础上很难实现的。
因此，城市变成了一个特殊的环境，它不仅支持着王权制，而且创造着不同类型的人：这种新型的人，与其处于较狭窄环境中的同类相比较，更容易接受宇宙的现实，更容易超脱部落社会习俗的羁绊，更能以同化旧的价值观而创造新的价值观，更能以作出新的决定，选择新的方向。
终于，城市本身变成了改造人类的主要场所，人格在这里得以充分的发挥。进入城市的，是一连串的神灵；经过一段段长期间隔后，从城市走出来的，是面目一新的男男女女。他们能以超越其神灵的禁限。但是，人类起初形成城市时是不曾料想到会有这种后果的。权力和财富毫无意识地为人格诞生准备了一个巢穴。而最终，人格又将会破坏人们种种过分的虚妄与要求。

Secondly, riding bicycle is a healthy form of exercise. They do good to our health. Thirdly, bicycles can save energy and does not cause any pollution, while cars will cause serious air pollution, which makes the air in our living place very dirty and makes a lot of people suffer from lung cancer. 我们大家在学英语的同时。好像忘记了我们的母语。我们这中华民族五千年的悠久历史，老祖宗传下来的文化，魅力好像还抵不过一个“洋鬼子”说的“鬼话”是的，英语的确是国际通用语言。可是这就是我们要冷落我们伟大的母语的'原因吗？这原因是在不值一提。中文，是世界上能最清楚表达事物的语言，只改变语调，就能变换语义。中国的语言文字叫“汉字”，而英美的语言文字叫“单词”。
这就明显能体现出汉语的意思准确、精练。我本人是回族，但我并不讨厌“汉”语、“汉”话。相反，我却十分崇敬华夏文化，因为我是中国人。
但看现在世态，我们好像不该在打着中华民族的旗子，说我们是龙的传人了。外语肆意横行，把我们老祖宗留给我们的东西，推进了印度洋深处，实在可怕。我最后竭力大喊一句：“我们是中国人！！！”
