I have been reading your newspaper for many years with a great enthusiasm and interest. It is my honor to write you this letter to give my views on the issue of “White Pollution”. It is my view that the limitation of the use of disposable plastic bags is of utmost significance.
I would like to make the following suggestions to put an effective stop to the wide spread of “White Pollution”. Firstly, we should ban the free use of the plastic bags. Secondly, the price of plastic bags should be further raised. Thirdly, media like your newspaper should do more to encourage the public to use paper or clothing bags to replace the plastic bags.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express/air dissatisfaction/disappointment/concern regarding accommodation. I would prefer to move into a single room next semester, as I find the present sharing arrangement inconvenient.
I must explain that the reason for my dissatisfaction is my roommate’s inconsiderate behavior. For one thing, his friends are constantly visiting him; for another, he regularly holds noisy parties.
To solve this problem/surmount this difficulty/improve this situation/crack this hard nut, I hope to draw the attention of the authorities concerned. I am sure you will agree that the only solution for me is to move into a room of my own. Therefore, I would be grateful if you could find a single room for me, preferably not in the same building but as near to the college campus as possible.

在一个烈日炎炎的中午，我和我的好朋友何晓恬，一起来到了肯德基快餐店。我们轻轻地推开了肯德基的店门。“哇”人好多啊，现在无论在哪个店里，每天都会看到一大群人的身影，可见现在的人都富裕了。我和何晓恬好不容易抢到一个“黄金宝地”，赶紧坐了下来。不
久后，只听“嗞咔——”的一声，店门又一次被人们推响。进来的是一位中年妇女，还带着四个小孩，最大的只不过就六、七岁，最小的才两、三岁而已。那位中年妇女衣着很朴素，衣服也早以过了时，头发用一个黑皮筋简单的扎着，显然是外地来的打工者。四个小孩也跟那个中年妇女的样式差不多，头发枯燥燥的，像秋天里的干稻草一样，脸上还有些黝黑。
中年妇女神情紧张，四个孩子好奇又胆怯，渴望美美饱餐一顿。 中年妇女在一个不起眼的墙角找了一个位子，安顿好孩子后，那个中年妇女慢慢地站起来，朝服务台走去，在人群中小心地排队。在买肯德基的过程中，那位妇女选了最便宜的一份儿童套餐，然后小心翼翼的把一条旧的四方花布打开，从里面取出一大把毛票和几个壹圆大头，非常舍不得的从里面拿了出来。
过了一会，那个中年妇女只端着一个托盘就回来了。托盘里的东西少得难以让人相信，甚至让人有些吃惊：两张餐巾纸、一杯小形可乐、一小包薯条和一个儿童汉堡，我一个人至少吃二份才够。从他们吃的过程中，可以看出，他们从来都没有吃过肯德基。一杯可乐大家一起喝，一包薯条大家一起吃，只剩下最后一个汉堡的时候，他们是这样把它解决的\'，老大先把那个闻了闻，给了老二；老二也闻了闻，给了老三；老三吃了一小口，给了老四，但老四并没有吃，他把小手伸出去，给了那位中年妇女，好像在说：“妈妈，吃一口吧。”但中年妇女含着眼泪，只是微微笑了笑，摇了摇头，老四只才在大家的观看下，吃了那个剩下的汉堡。吃完以后，他们恋恋不舍地离开了肯德基店。
那让人心酸和感动的一幕，我今生今世都忘不了。虽然那个托盘里的东西并不丰富，但是就为了一个小小的汉堡，给来给去，最后老四才吃下那个小汉堡。从这个汉堡里，可以看出彼此对彼此的关爱。有些人，能打动你的眼睛；有些爱，能打动你的心灵。贫穷和富贵都不重要，只有这种爱比任何东西都珍贵。
