鞋店的展示柜上，一层层都摆满了款式各异的鞋子。一双亮色的高跟鞋和一双平底鞋恰好被分到了一起。
鞋店里人来人往，这些鞋子每天都要接受不同顾客的目光。得到顾客青睐的那些，还会获得抚摸和试穿的待遇，最讨喜的那双还会被顾客打包带走，从此便能与脚为伴看世界了。
亮色的高跟鞋是最近被摆上柜的。它昂首挺胸的立在自己的地盘上，对身边那低矮的平底鞋报以轻蔑的态度。它素来看不上那些造型平平的家伙。
“你这样矮平，也配和我站在一起？”它终无忍不住嘲笑那邻居。
平底鞋静静站着，没有理会它。高跟鞋更不乐意了：“哼，等我被顾客选走，就可以远离这有些闷气的地方，远离这讨厌的.邻居了。”
每有顾客走过它们身边，总会有人对高跟鞋欣赏一番，“嗯嗯，这鞋子真是漂亮，这色泽，这款式，不错，不错……”高跟鞋听到这赞美，心里乐开了花。可是赞美声虽然很多，它却一直没被选走，高跟鞋有些心急了。它想，就凭我这靓丽的外形，绝对比那低矮的家伙更受欢迎。
一天，店里走进几个年轻的姑娘，高跟鞋一下子就打起了精神，摆出最妖媚的姿态。果然有人停在了它的面前，那个姑娘弯下腰轻轻的抚摸着它，并对其他几个人说：“你们看，多漂亮的鞋子，我好喜欢啊。”高跟鞋美滋滋的想这下就要被选走了。
正当它开始做美梦，想象着自己被人穿在脚上转世界的时候。被那几个姑娘叽叽喳喳的说话声给拉回了现实。“漂亮是不错，可是，咱们怎么穿它出去玩啊！”“就是，就是，明天去爬山，穿它就累人啦！”“我看它旁边那双平底鞋就不错，你穿上试试吧！”
那姑娘便取了旁边那双平底鞋穿在脚上，来回又了两圈，对她的伙伴们说道：“真舒服，真轻巧！”
很快，店里的服务员便把装好的平底鞋交到了姑娘的手上，被买走了。
高跟鞋一下子就像泄了气的皮球，再也不敢小看那些低矮的家伙了。
有句老话说：“事物凡存在，就自有存在的道理。”所以，不要因为觉得比别人优秀就对人抱以轻蔑的态度。也许，下一秒，你就会看到那些不起眼的人，竟然也闪出了光。
