My mum is not only a good teacher, but also a great mother. She is patient with me and always smiling while talking. My mum teaches me how to think independently and helps me to build up my confidence. When I have some difficulties in my studies, it is my mum who encourages me to work until I solve the problem. When I’m feeling sad or bad, it is also my mum who looks after me with care.
I remember when I caught a fever at midnight last year, my mum took me to the hospital as fast as she could. When we got home after my injection, it was about 5 o’clock in the early morning. My mum only slept 2 hours because she had to wake up at 7 o’clock to prepare breakfast for me, and then she went to work. She must be very tired that day.
My mum is not very beautiful, but I admire and love her.

If I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty by every possible means, and on every possible occasion. It takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble. It only needs early cultivation to become a power.

闻完了香味，就该让嘴巴开心了。拿起荔枝，轻轻地咬一口。啊!好甜呀!一阵甜甜的香味扑来。这种香味不是腻腻的，而是清新爽口的甜味，即使不爱吃甜东西的人也不会扔掉。
荔枝是以健康的水果。多吃它可以让皮肤变得水汪汪的。也可以像它一样，让皮肤变得软软的，富有弹性。

炎热的夏季到了，我爱吃的水果都上市了。其中，我最喜欢吃荔枝了。当然，以前我不知道，还不要吃呢!
有一次，妈妈买来一大串荔枝。我看到那一大串梗枝上有许多一颗颗大大的荔枝。这荔枝外面的样子非常不好看，非常粗糙，一个个尖角突出，摸起来有一点扎手。我想这么难看的东西一定不好吃，你看红艳艳的苹果，黄澄澄的桔子，它们都是非常好看，而且十分好吃。妈妈让我吃，我还直摇头，不要吃呢!
妈妈也就不再对我说什么了，她自己拿起一颗荔枝剥开皮，露出了光滑晶莹的果肉。她津津有味地吃了起来。这时，我改变了对它的一点看法，它看来不是像我想象的那样不好吃了。我不等妈妈再催我吃，自己就迫不及待地拿起一颗荔枝把那丑陋的外皮剥去，露出了白润的果肉。还没有等到我把果肉放到嘴里，那汁水就往下滴。我不及细想，立刻把它放进了自己的嘴巴里面。啊，那汁水是那样地甜。真是，吃到嘴里，甜到心里。我细细地辨别着它的味道，觉得这味道好得我从来没有碰到过，说也说不出来。一颗荔枝还在我嘴里嚼，另一颗荔枝已经给我剥好了。我马上把嘴里的小核吐出把肉咽下去，迅速塞进第二颗荔枝。我吃了一颗又一颗。妈妈立刻叫我少吃一点。我表面上答应了。等到妈妈有事情走开以后，我就大吃起来。我把妈妈买来的'两斤荔枝全部吃光才停止。虽然这时，我还想再吃，可是家里已经没有了。我想等一会儿让妈妈再去买荔枝来吃。
晚饭以后，我就开始拉起了肚子来了。妈妈说我是贪吃的后果。我想是呀，好东西也不能多吃，否则会变成坏事的。我又想到做人就是要做这样的人，外表并不重要，重要的是内在，好象落花生一文中所说的那样，我们要做一个像花生、像荔枝一样的人。
