Dumpling is a traditional Chinese food. On the lunar New Year' s Day, most families make a lot of delicious dumplings. To make them, follow this easy process.
The first step is to mix the flour with water. When the dough is ready, we can begin to make dumpling wrappers. We use a rolling pole to roll the dough into small, thin and round pieces so that they will be easy to cook. When the wrappers are done, it' s time to prepare the filling.
Usually, we use meat such as beef or mutton, and some vegetables such as cabbage or carrots for filling. You may actually choose whatever you like to put into it. We must chop those things into small pieces. Then put some salt, oil and other condiments into it and stir it evenly. When all these preparations are done, we can start making dumplings.
First put a spoonful of filling in the center of the wrapper. Then stick the two opposite sides together and then the rest. Don' t just cover the filling with the wrappers. The best shape of dumplings is that of a ship, because when they are boiling in the pan, they look like ships sailing in the sea. The smell can make your mouth water.

在我们的日常生活中有很多第一次，但是比较难忘的第一次是很少的。我学包饺子就使我难以忘记，因为从中我学到了做什么事都要开动脑筋，要有耐心。
记得一个星期天的下午，妈妈对我说：“好久没有吃自己包的饺子了，我们来包饺子晚上吃，好吗？”没等我回话，妈妈就开始忙活起来。我看着妈妈倒了一些面粉在盆里，然后在盆中加上水，把面粉和成面团，不停地揉呀揉呀，再后来把葱花、猪肉、虾仁、香菜洗干净剁碎拌成馅，最后妈妈把和好的面团切下一块，搓成一条，用刀均匀切成小块压成面饼，只见妈妈右手用擀面棍在小面饼上来回滚动，左手拿着小面饼不停的转动，不一会就擀了许多面皮，就等着包呢。
我把手洗得干干净净准备包饺子。我想这是很简单的事，把馅放到面皮中间一合，再四周捏一捏不就包好了吗？妈妈开始包饺子了。只见妈妈把馅放在面皮中心，用手指沿着面皮的边捏成一个个小褶，一下子一个小巧玲珑的饺子就包好了。我照着妈妈的样子，把馅放在面皮中心包起来，可是包来包去也包不到一块，面粉太多，那面皮怎么捏也不粘在一起，馅搞的到处都是，我费了九牛二虎之力才勉强包好一个饺子。仔细一看既不像饺子也不像馄饨，外面都是馅，简直不像样。妈妈笑着说：“这哪是饺子呀？倒像一个花球，一下锅煮非成一锅汤不可。”我又包了一个，还是不行。我对包饺子失去了信心，想洗手不干了。这时妈妈对我说：“什么事做起来都不那么简单呀！应该要有耐心，多动一动脑子，仔细观察妈妈是怎么包的，不能遇到困难就打退堂鼓。多练一练就会做了。”听了妈妈的话，我又开始包起来，我仔细观察妈妈的动作，反复的包，一个比一个包得好，越包越熟练，越来越有信心，有了诀窍。不知不觉我包了十几个。我终于会包饺子了，我非常高兴。
妈妈开始煮饺子了，那一个个小东西在沸腾的水里，好可爱啊！十几分钟后饺子上餐桌了。看着一碗碗热气腾腾的饺子，我急不可待地夹起一个咬了一口，啊！里面的馅香喷喷的真好吃。特别是吃到我亲手包的饺子时，我的心砰砰直跳，真有些激动。
通过这次包饺子，我懂得了不管干什么事，只要动脑筋，下功夫，就没有办不到的事。
