动物生长过程的英语作文【一】
去年夏天，别人送了我们一盆含羞草，先开始，它只有六七厘米长，几片残缺不全的叶子，妈妈说：“只要细心照料，它就会活。”于是我抱着一线希望，把它养了起来。
几天后的一个中午，突然想走了该给它浇水施肥了，便向摆放花盆的那个大地方望过去，“啊，它活了！”一看到盆中的含羞草，我惊喜得差点跳起来，那棵难看的含羞草已经伸直了纤细的腰，伸出了三片嫩绿的叶芽，那嫩绿的娇叶在风中摇摆，仿佛是小姑娘伸出手在向我招唤。我情不自禁地伸手抚摸它，它竟然害羞般地收拢了叶子。等一会儿，它又悄悄地把叶片伸展开来，真有趣，从那天起，我每天都要去看它或者给它浇水，我发现含羞草几乎一天长出一片绿叶，每组叶之间一般都长两三个小花蕾，花蕾长到到一两个星期，居然开出了紫红色的小球，椭圆形花儿，没有花瓣，全是细细的蕊，像个好玩的小绒球。面对着含羞草，回顾着妈妈让我把它栽种在花盆中的情景，我深深的陷入了思考中，这时，妈妈走了过来，边指着含羞草，一边对我说：“你看，含羞草虽然小，生命力却强，无论在什么环境下，它都能自强不息，人们宠爱他，它总是把头低下去，从不骄傲。”
听了妈妈的一番话，我知道了要做一个像含羞草那样自强不息，谦逊朴实的人。

前几天，郑老师让我们完成一个泡豆子的实践作业。我一想：呀，完蛋，家里可能没豆子了。于是，为了完成作业，我火速跑回家，一放下书包我就问妈妈：“妈妈，家里有没有豆子呀?”“哦，” 黄豆是有，我正准备烧呢，怎么了?”妈妈不解地望着我问道，我说：“老师要我们泡豆子，这几天要好好观察，要写观察，。“噢。”妈妈明白了“我给你十五颗豆子泡泡吧!”说着，挑给了我十五颗，我并没有马上去泡，而是在豆子中挑出几颗饱满些的，挺着大肚子的豆子。
经过筛选后，我拿来一只杯子，把它拿到水龙头下，哗哗哗地灌了一杯水，正要把豆宝宝们放进去，却被妈妈拦住了：“哎哎哎，你这是干什么，那么冷的水，它们能发芽吗，应该用温水来泡，水也不能那么多的。”说完，拿过我手中的杯子，全部倒掉，又倒了些可以喝的温水进去，对我说：“好了，现在你可以把豆子泡下去了。”我接过杯子，小心翼翼地把豆子一颗颗地放进去，我把它们放到了阳台上，然后，我就坐在一旁静静地看着，一分钟、二分钟、一个小时、二个小时，豆宝宝们还是老样子，没反应，我又等了半个小时，豆宝宝终于“睡醒”了，但变成了一个长满“皱纹”的小老头儿，我感到十分好笑，十分钟左右，小老头变回原形了，但是比原来胖了许多，一个个挺着大肚子，有些豆宝宝的大肚子上，还出现了一条条的裂缝，里面是细嫩的小肉，嘿，真好玩儿。
到了下午，我又去看我的小宝贝，哇，我惊奇地发现，豆宝宝们有的从裂缝里长出了一点点凸出的小芽儿，小芽儿原先是嫩黄色的。
又过了几天，小芽儿就变成嫩绿色，呦，还是娇嫩娇嫩的呢!我怜惜地看着，心中充满了喜悦和期望。我看了看杯子里的水，已经变成嫩黄的了，我连忙小心地把水倒出来，换了些温水进去。
我的豆宝宝真可爱，它们一定会快快长大的!

原来，在含羞草叶柄的茎部，有一个储藏液体的囊袋，它好像液压机里的油缸。平时，囊袋里装满了液体，当你触动叶子的时候，囊袋里的液体就向上部和叶子两侧流动，叶子在重力作用下就合拢了，等平静一会儿后，液体慢慢从两侧流回囊袋，叶子重新展开了。
有时，我故意碰碰它们，和它们开开玩笑。
