我们就这样过了几个星期。一天吃过早餐，忽然，有人敲门。母亲吩咐道：“若瑟夫，去开门，看看是谁来了。”我跑去一把门打开，就愣住了。那人穿着破旧的衣服，手又老又粗，眼里透出又忧伤又害怕的光来，原来是他──于勒叔叔！
母亲从厨房走出来，问道：“若瑟夫，是谁？”可当她走到门口时，她也吃了一惊。于勒叔叔轻声问道：“菲利普在家吗？”母亲似乎明白了他的来意，脸上的表情由吃惊变为愤怒：“你来这儿干什么？你这没出息的家伙！难道你没看见我们已被你害得这么惨了吗？难道你还想回来吃我们的`吗？”于勒叔叔一声不吭地垂着头站在那里，像一个做错了事还在挨训斥的孩子一样。
父亲听到吵闹声，也走出房间来：“克拉丽丝，你在跟谁吵架？”母亲鄙夷地瞥了一眼于勒叔叔，冷冷而又讥讽地说道：“这个大富翁想回来吃我们的了。”父亲的神色很狼狈很尴尬。他附在母亲耳边轻声道：“小声点，克拉丽丝，小心让别人听见。你先进来，让我跟他说。”母亲还想说什么但被父亲制止了，她不满地从鼻子里挤出“哼”的一声，转身走进了屋。我站在离他们不远的地方，听着他们的谈话。
父亲先开口了，语气也是冷冷的：“你还回来找我们干什么？听船长说……”于勒叔叔轻声道：“对不起，菲利普，我原本是不想来打扰你们的，但我……我实在太穷了，简直无法生活了。求求你们，把我留下吧。我有了好的工作，一定会补偿你的损失的。”“什么？你说什么？！你也看见了克拉丽丝并不欢迎你。而且，如果让你留下，你让孩子们怎么过得好。”父亲的声音都变了调了。
母亲也许觉得他们的谈话时间太长了，走出来说：“你们的谈话该结束了，我们不能留一个累赘在家里。好了，菲利普，进来吧。于勒，你该靠自己创造生活。”说完“砰”的一声关上了门，再也不理于勒叔叔了。
又过了几天。有一天，母亲吩咐我上街买东西。突然我看到一个人躺在街上。我好奇地走过去一看，吓了一大跳，天哪！居然是于勒叔叔，但他已经了。我默默地流下两行泪来，算是对这位被这个金钱世界扼的叔叔的一点告慰。

明确：父亲首先肯定了儿子最大的优点是心地善良，对大自然，对所有的`生命充满爱心。决不干些弄虚作假的事。父亲认为儿子的另一个优点是具有平民思想。比如对胡同特别感兴趣，不喜欢搞特殊化，对家庭和附加于家庭上的东西没兴趣。
父亲重视的是儿子的思想品质，而不仅是他的学业，这很值得我们深思的。
父亲又提出了两点希望：一是应有博大的胸怀。要豁达，要跨跃心理的雄关，要征服自己，不要纠缠于一些小事。二是要有铁一般的意志，这是针对儿子小事尚可，中事不够，大事就不够提出的，希望儿子成为坚强者能办大事。
这两点希望表达了父亲对儿子的一片深情，希望儿子不断完善自我，这也是对我们广大青少年提出的要求。
信中举了哪些事例，举出你印象最深的谈谈感受。
（1）为了说明儿子心地善良，作者举了儿子四岁时见人摘花、砍树就生气；直到今天为保护海洋生物而不吃鱼，做错题而已从同桌得知正确答案而不改。
可以看出父亲对儿子十分关注，对十年前的事情还记忆犹新。在叙述中父亲如数家珍，赞赏之情溢于言表。作者还将自己同儿子进行对照，反省自自。
（2）在信的开头，为了激励儿子积极进取，举了“我和你妈妈”“你爷爷”“你外公”十五、六岁就参军的事例，还有甘罗，刘胡兰的事迹。
举这些事例，希望儿子从小胸怀大志，有一个与众不同的精彩人生，可以看出父亲的良苦用心。
（3）举儿子对胡同文化特别兴趣，不搞特殊化，不炫耀自己的家庭。
在儿子的诸多优点中，作者特别珍视这个优点，作者主为平民思想是现代化和现政治最重要的灵魂。可以看出儿子正是受了家庭的潜移默化的影响，才具有了这个特点。这个事例看似平凡，但给人深思。
（4）举了儿子在意别人的批评，别人的看法，无端地被一些小事所困扰。父亲表达了自怀的担忧，用了邓小平三次栽倒三次站起来的事例启发儿子要战胜自我，超越自我。
