summer can be very hot in southern taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"c or more. because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. also because of this i stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky.
actually i like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. in the summer vacation that has just ended i went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. this summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. as a second-year senior student i had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. in other words, i must find time to study, too.
so i divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

暑假里的一天，天气真闷热呀。太阳火辣辣地烤着大地。四周没有一丝风，柳树被晒得无精打采，而且还弯下了腰。
听，知了在大树上不停地叫着，好像在说：“热了，热了……”看，邻居家的大黄狗伸出舌头喘着气。我正要开风扇，可偏偏停电了，“这该的暑假。”我骂道。我的汗珠像断了线的珠子不停地往下掉。
到了傍晚，我和家人要一起去爬山。我和家人一起背上了小背包，高高兴兴地去爬山了。我们在路上有说有笑的，就不觉得热了。
这时，我觉得天仿佛更蓝了，草儿仿佛更绿了，花儿仿佛更艳了。我们手拉着手往上爬。我们走了一会儿，突然，一滴滴的雨水滴在我们的头上、脸上、手上。这时，大家发觉下雨了，我说：“我们要到哪儿去避雨?”我的话刚说完，雨就越下越大了。大家决定到下面的凉亭里去避雨。我们便使劲往下面跑，跑着跑着，终于到了跑到了凉亭里。
我们刚跑道凉亭里的时候，倾盆大雨就噼里啪啦地落了下来。大家都在凉亭里议论着，“要不要在爬?”“这么大的雨，我们怎么回家?”有的甚至说：“不能回家就不回家。”听到这些话，我对大家说：“坚持就是胜利，等雨停了，我们还要继续往上爬。”听到我的.话，大家都知道接下来要怎么做了。过了一会儿，雨停了，我看见草儿又绿了，花儿又艳了，大雨把一切都洗的干干净净了。
雨停了，我们又手拉着手，高高兴兴地往上爬，爬着爬着，我们终于爬到了山上。我们在山上呼吸着新鲜的空气，看着山下的高楼已变成了一个个美丽的“火柴盒”了，人们却成了一只只“小蚂蚁”了。
今天是暑假中最难忘的一天。我们虽然很热，但是经过爬山，让我们忘记了热，反而带来了夏日的凉爽。

每年暑假，爸爸妈妈总要带我去游玩，今年我来到海口一下班车，我一下子被海口的风景迷住了，两边花草繁茂，高大的椰子树像卫兵一样排列在街道两旁，好像在迎接来自五湖四海的游客。
第二天，我们就去了假日海滩，我终于看到了一望无垠的大海，海水呈现在我们眼前的有三种颜色。远处海天相接的地方是厚重的深蓝色，近点是淡些的湛蓝色，而我们脚下的就是清澈见底的浅蓝色了。
我奔跑在软绵绵的沙滩上，让细沙抚摸我的脚丫，我在海滩上尽情地嬉戏，海浪一个接着一个向我们涌来，沙滩上留下了一条条美丽的波浪线，沙子被带走了，却留下五颜六色的贝壳，我争着捡着，任欢快的笑声在海风中回荡。
捡完了贝壳，我们便来到了海滩上，只见椰子树把整个岛都占领了，每棵都高大无比，直插云霄，树上还结了许多椰子。最吸引人的还是导弹树，它是椰树的一种，只不过树干长的两头小，中间粗，活像一棵导弹。
我们在海滩上转了一圈，开始返回码头，我突然看见海边岩石上的几只小蟹，兴奋不已，冲到海里便是猛抓。可青蟹跑得如此之快，可让我吃了点苦头，但我们怎么也没想到，我们获得了比青蟹更好的东西。事情是这样的：正当我在苦苦搜寻青蟹时，我又现了一个神秘的五角星，五条触须蠕动着，好像很难看，“啊!是海星!”我大叫，立刻把它“捉拿归案”。果然是块风水宝地，有海星、有青蟹，哇!一只小海胆，只见像毛栗一样的东西在爸爸手中挥舞着小刺，之后“呀呀”声此起彼伏，我们几个小孩拿着这些令人眼睛一亮的生物，心满意足地离开了假日海滩。

At college, I missed my parents a lot. As the term was drawing to an end, I eagerly looked forward to going home. And I planned to do a thousand and one things during the vacation. Above all, I wanted to help my mother with housework. I also wished to read many hooks which my teachers had recommended. However, at home, my mother would never let me do anything. She completely deprived me of sharing her work. As soon as I opened a book to read,she would sit down beside me and ask me about all kinds of things at the college. To please her,I told her one thing after another,and soon I forgot all about books. Even when I was actually reading,she would, now and then,insist that I should eat an egg or drink a cup of tea. When I left home at the end of the vacation, not a thing in my plan had been carried out. But I felt very happy. I believed much more deeply than before in the old saying: Home, sweet home. There’s no place like home!
