If I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty by every possible means, and on every possible occasion. It takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble. It only needs early cultivation to become a power.

有一位猎人进深山打猎，见山腰有一只黑熊坐在巨石下，便开枪将其击毙。但熊仍然端坐在那里，没有倒下。猎人恐其有诈，不敢贸然前进，又向熊体射击两枪。猎人走到黑熊跟前，发现这是一头母熊，它仍在用身体挡着欲倒的巨石；再向山下望去，见山下的溪水里有3只幼熊正在玩水。猎人走到这里明白了：母熊是怕突然倒下的巨石滚到山下，砸伤子女们啊!这时，钢铁般的汉子的眼睛湿润了，毅然砸坏，发誓今后不再打猎。
我的母亲也很伟大，我不是夸大其词，这是我的肺腑之言。上小学时，妈妈每天都会骑着她的破自行车送我，不管酷暑还是严寒都一样。妈妈一到夏天就会很黑很黑，而一到冬天开裂的手指那就直往外冒，那是因为没有洗衣机用手洗时才会这样，而母亲还是用手一件件给我搓洗着衣服。放学了，哪一次饭菜还没好，哪一次我写作业时她尽量不发出一点儿声音，甚至连电视都不开，这是怕影响我的学习啊！
总之，从小到大，母亲是这个家的顶梁柱，我觉得只要有她和老爸就是整个世界。
